So Im getting married December 17, 2014 Which is literally 1 month and a few days away. Sadly I diddnt come from a wealthy family so I havent been able to get braces yet. Im marrying an army soldier who Iv known since middle school, His teeth are now straight but sadly myne havent. The one thing I want the most is to look beautiful on our wedding day. I tend to sometimes have a side smile not showing my teeth. I have gotten used to not showing my teeth and it never seems like im “happy happy” because I never show my teeth.
Heres my normal smile:
Excuse any imperfections, however this is my smile, no teeth at all, I do have a small dimple on the side, but for pictures and smiling in general this is all people see. Now in the next photo I will be showing my teeth, they are not white at the moment because im a heavy coffee drinker and tea drinker, but they are clean! lol but my teeth to me are really in bad shape due to overcrowding, it can be fixed “with time” 2 years exactly.
Heres the smile that NOBODY ever sees!
As you can tell theres definitely coffee stain but that will be easily fixed with whitener. Also one of my k9’s is slightly raised and my teeth are pretty much on top of eachother. My main embarrassment is that k9 on the left that slightly sticks out. I get really embarrased when I accidentally let my teeth show, and im really stressed and worried about what I should do for my big day! My fiance is very supportive he says he dosent care how my smile is he loves me for me, but you know women sometimes are very critical with theyre looks and I definitely am, so let me know what you think I should do, Thanks!!!!

Shesca98: own your smile 🙂
honestly, I couldn’t get the giant goofy grin off my face all day. My photographer even commented that she didn’t have to remind me to smile all day – I was laughing and smiling the entire time. It was an amazing day. My guess is that you’ll have to force yourself to not smile big and then it’ll be forced and uncomfortable.
Let it happen 😀

(when I look at the second picture, the first thing i notice is how much brighter your eyes are – you just look happier – go with the grin, teeth and all!!!)

smile smile smile. You have a beautiful smile. The PP is right about your eyes too

Smile, girl! You won’t have any control over that on your wedding day anyway
All you’ll see when you look at those pictures is how happy you both were.

Shesca98: I think you look beautiful when you smile. My advice is to enjoy yourself and smile the way it comes to you. Most of all you want to be comfortable; rest assured that no one will be paying attention to your teeth at all. If you look happy they will feel that.

You look happier in the second picture. Own your shit, what makes us different makes us beautiful. I know that sounds like a cheesy Dove ad but its so true.
We are our own worst critics, so smile big, your eyes light up. Truthfully, you’ll likely be so happy you’ll forget to do your closed mouth smile anyways!

Smile!! It makes your whole face light up!

Shesca98: You are beautiful with either smile. But I think you are the most beautiful in the second photo because you look so happy. I know it’s hard when you feel very self-conscious about something, but try not to worry over it too much. All anyone is going to notice on your wedding day is that you are a beautiful, beautiful bride!!

I would not notice anything unusual about your teeth, if you were smiling I would just think you looked happy 🙂 Your family and friends know what you look like-you are not putting on a show for them! If your concern is having portraits to print you can ask your photographer to get some both ways so you have options if you get any big prints. My eyes also jump to your eyes in the second picture-other than you, no will will scrutinize your face that much. Have a beautiful wedding 🙂

Oh sweetie. You’re gonna be so happy on your wedding day that you won’t even think about if you should smile or not.. it’ll just happen.
During your portraits I would take some with your big giant pretty smile, and some of your everyday smile – just incase you decide after the wedding that you didn’t like one of them, at least you’d have some pictures of you that you did like.

You have a beautiful smile! And don’t forget that they are beautiful and white.
You look gorgeous, don’t think about it on your big day…. please! Just be you

Definitely smile! We are our own worst critics. Your smile is beautiful! Just remember, your fiance proposed to that smile 😉
Smile big for some and not so big for others so when you get your photos back you can pick and choose.
Be confident and you will (do!) look great!

Sweetie, I have to say that you are too self concious over this. Your Fiance loves you and that includes your teeth. we all have our insecurities but if possible, try to find it in yourself to say oh well!!!
For the next month, go out and smile at everyone! See how many smile back! Treat it like an exercise…even have some take some random snapshots. The more you get used to it, the better.
And remember, the worse anyone can even think is that your teeth aren’t straight…so what?? They will not be disgusted or recoil in horror! you are beautiful!
I have to admit though that too straight teeth get on my nerves…I love it when actors teeth aren’t straight…Ali latter used to have a tiny bit of crookedness…now they are perfectly straight, and I liked them the other way. My mom always talks about loving Chers teeth before she got them fixed too.
