It would depend on how many people you bring to the tasting, and who is serving you the food. If a manager is bringing everything out and explainging it, with little help from one of the restaurant’s servers, it would be unnecessary to tip the manager. If the waitstaff is helping quite a bit with the tasting, it would be polite to leave a tip ($5/person) for the server, because he or she is likely paid mostly by tips. Good luck, and enjoy your tasting!

We went to a tasting at a restaurant location, and did not tip. Our food was brought out by the wedding coordinator, who spent alot of time talking to us about their events, food, and service.

I think if the restaurant invites you for the tasting, that no tip is necessary.

But, if you specifically requested the tasting and specific dishes (or go back for another tasting) that a tip would be a good idea.
