    Stick with the 1.25ct

    Go for the 1.5ct

Shoot for the stars and go as big as you can!!!!!

I would go with the 1.5 because you will always get shrinkage (its a known syndrome) and once you get shrinkage on the 1.5 (trust me it will arrive and you will be like WOW its big) and once you get shrinkage it will be just right but the 1.25 you always will have wished you gone bigger.

ETA: It also depends if you plan on passing it off as real – If so I would go with what would be in your realistic $$$ range.

You will definitely get the dreaded shrinkage.  Especially if you’re already thinking about it now.

When I first tried on my 1 carat ring at the store I scoffed and pretty much laughed it off thinking it was way too huge.

When Fiance gave it to me, it literally made my jaw drop because I thought it was so big.

Now, 6 months later, it looks almost small lol.

Is shrinkage a mental thing? Because some days my diamond looks like a really good size and other days it looks small! Is it all in my head?! Oooh…sorry if this is threadjacking…

@FutMrsPrather:  It’s not necessarily a bad thing, I still LIKE the size, it just doesn’t look big to me anymore!  Sometimes I catch it in the mirror though, and see it from a different angle, and think it looks like a decent size though!

    Good luck with your decision!

There is a terrible amount of difference between a 1.5 and 1.25. There’s a difference, but not a huge one. 1.5 is still very tasteful and like the other ladies mentioned, it won’t seem so overwhelming after a little while. You may actually wonder when your stone decided to go on a diet. 😛
