- Wedding: June 2011
Aww thank you for the advice everyone! You ladies are great! I think im sticking with the 1.25 for now. The SO says that after the wedding and the house if im still look for more I can ask him nicely for a bigger stone for an anniversary present since Ill already have a double band. Were off to get it set later today then I wont see my baby untill he proposes which will make the ring so much more. Thanks so much for the advice.
I got my moissy loose and then put it in a temporary setting just to see what it would look like, and I definitely thought it looked biger once in the setting.
I’ve posted 2 threads which show the difference, if you want to click on my name and check out the posts for comparison.
Hope that helps!
Once set it WILL look bigger, but not so much bigger that it will be crazy noticable. So if you are feeling like it is small now, definitley return it and go for the 7.5mm. Shrinkage is a real thing and can only be combated by more upgrades, so best to hold it at bay for as long as possible. I started with 1ct and I am now up to 9mm-10mm stones…or 3.5ct+
Thank you!! Its set in a four prong. I wasnt sure if the six prong would be too much metal. I work in a warehouse so im REALLY hard on my hands. We’ll see how long that four prong will last before i destroy it…lol. I got a quick sneek peek and a couple of pictures of the finished product before my SO could take it away. I dont want to post pics until its my actual engagement ring though. Its everything that I wanted, but I still have a doubt or two. I just remember that once its my actual engagement ring all the other stuff wont matter.
