FutureMrsGeek:  Here’s the thing: there is way too much emphasis based on the engagement ring. That’s the rock people want to show off as a status symbol. IMO the wedding band is more important because it symbolizes the marriage and not just waiting for marriage. Most ladies wear both and I’ve even read posts from Bees saying they only want to wear their engagement ring and not bother with the wedding band after marriage.

Most people I know (in my age group) wear both. I certainly do. However, my e-ring is considered modest by US standards. I deliberately requested something practical so that I could wear it every day.

I have noticed that people from my parents’ and grandparents’ generations do not wear their engagement rings… they remove them after marriage.

I’m proud of both so I’ll always wear both. Too beautiful not to ! What drives me nuts are people who wear their rings the wrong way round With the ering furthest down when it should be your wedding band so its closest to your heart.

I wear both my rings everyday. Thou my engagement ring isn’t too big or flashy so it doesn’t get in the way. The only time I wore only my wedding band was when we travelled to Europe – mainly because I wasn’t sure of the places we would be visiting and I didn’t wanna draw attention to myself. We got hit on by the beggars all the time so I can only imagine it would have been heaps worse if we looked “flashy”.

FutureMrsGeek:  I like wearing both when I can.

I’m a chef, so I can’t wear either at work. I wear a plain stand in, but sadly both “real” rings are already off for a big chunk of time each day. To me, fine jewellery is meant to be enjoyed… Not sit in a box at home. So I wear my diamonds with sweats to the grocery store and wherever else I can. I love seeing them both on my finger, it makes me so happy.

That said, I’ll occasionally leave my engagement ring off to better see my pretty wedding band. I love what it symbolizes… There’s no way I would have skipped having one! 🙂

I’m not married yet, but in 6 more months I plan on wearing both rings together. To me it’s my wedding set. Both are rings he slipped on my finger and they belong together. Unless I’m going somewhere that doesn’t call for my ering, I don’t mind wearing it everyday and it’s low profile enough I can wear it for everything.

MrsSpagan:  I wear my ering first because my wedding band fits more snug and my ering is loose. I personally think it looks better on me that way. Not sure why that would “drive you crazy” it’s not the “wrong way” it’s my way. i actually started a thread on this a many bees also prefer to wear it that way as well.

I wear both rings during the week days but they come off as soon as i am home since im usually playing with our puppy and making dinner.  On weekends i wear a plain stainless steel band since we tend to be out and about with the dog but if we are going sonewhere nice or out with friends, both my rings are on.

McBezel:  +1. I’m going to wear mine on the outside. There’s no “rule” and for the order in which I wear MY rings to upset someone is ridiculous.
