Here’s my thought. Your dress is beautiful. Your venue is beautiful. Therefore they match. Everyone is just going to be looking at how beautiful you are anyways. Enjoy your dress and your venue!!

I am getting married on a beach – literally in the sand – and I have what I consider to be a formal dress. I don’t care! My whole wedding is fairly low-key, but I feel like you really should just wear what you love. If you feel beautiful in what you are wearing, you will be!

Hi @weddingbound – I had this dilemma too for my November wedding on the beach in Koh Samui, Thailand. I had in my head I would pick a floaty, beachy, grecian style dress – but they just made me look preggers! 🙂 I found my dream dress and it is quite formal (mermaid with ruffles) & I have seen many other beach/destination brides wear what they want too!
Its your big day, you are meant to be the best dressed there – so go for it! Wear the dress that makes you feel amazing and then you will match your amazing destination no matter what! 🙂 T

Hey, I’m from Florida, too! 😀
I think they will look fantastic together. If you were down on the beach in the sand, then I would worry, especially since it’s a long heavier dress than what you typically see for beach weddings. But I see your venue picture and think “resort” wedding, not “beach” wedding. Even though the beach is so close, you’re not actually having it *on* the beach.
Point is – rock your dress! Your venue is fancy schmancy, and so is your dress, so drop those dress woes off and love your decision again 🙂
