First, I’m wearing navy blue converse at my wedding. (My fiance wants me my natural height and ballet slippers are not my taste, and I always wanted to wear converse.) However, I couldn’t find an inexpensive ribbon to match them. So I ended up buying lemongrass green ribbon (the same color ribbon we are using on our candles) for my dress. The colors look great together to me. What do you think? Navy, green, and black are my colors, so it’s not like I just threw in some random color for my shoes. I’m wearing a floor length dress, so I don’t know how often my shoes will actually be seen.

I think with the blue converse you found your something blue, I love the idea! Go for it.

@tksjewelry: I probably should have mentioned that I don’t believe in the something blue superstition, but thank you for your comment!

Solved this problem! Nixing the ribbon altogether.

My colors were Navy and Pink. I work hot pink shoes and had my bouquet tied in Ivory (the color of my dress). No need to match your shoes to the ribbon.

The whole converse thing is tacky to me, but do what you like.
