I had an AWFUL experience with Wonderxue. She promised to deliver my dress in April, repeatedly move it back but now says taht she can’t make my dress because she got too busy!!! It’s too late for me to go to a bridal boutique to buy a dress because I wasted 3 months waiting for her. I wouldn’t recommend her. She may make beautiful dresses for cheap, but her words can’t be trusted. She has issues committing to orders.

I looked at her shop when I was dress shopping, but once I saw that she’s in China –  nope. I’ve heard too many bad things about people ordering dresses from China and not getting anything like what they expected. Just too risky.

Oh no…now I’m super worried…I’ve ordered from her as well…So far I’ve had Finn, and Nelly, and some other name respond to my emails…all in a timely fashion but how can she have this many people answering her emails…are these people also making her dresses?  Is this why the quality has fallen?????  OH NOOOOOOOOO.

I’m so sorry to hear of your awful experience, I would also be extremely upset if my dress turned up ripped and marked.

I bought my dress from wonderxue. It’s very pretty but it does have flaws. Some of the lace just doesn’t sit properly and there was the tiniest black spot that I need to take out. However, these issues were nothing that alterations and a bit of TLC couldn’t fix.

You certainly get what you pay for. You can tell the material is cheap, but the dress itself looks very pretty. I ordered from her because it’s all I could afford, and the quality reflects the price. She does mention how busy she is, and I definitely think it’s a case of her compromising quality because of lack of time, which is awful for the brides who cop the result.

Also, I didn’t need my dress in a rush because my wedding is awhile away, so I don’t have any complaints about the time. However if I was under a strict schedule needing a reliable person then maybe wonderxue isn’t the right one to order from.

Went and posted this thread and few others around the boards. If you google the name of the shop – Weddingbee entries are in the top five results – just wanted to make sure other brides were aware of your experience as well as a few others.

I also had a horrible experience with this Chinese dressmaker.  She took the money, never shipped the dress, and then pulled her store off of etsy without warning.

Don’t buy from her if she puts her site back up–no matter how good the reviews may seem. She pressures cutomers to change negative reviews to positive in order for them to get their refunds.  If you watch her review board carefully you will notice this.

Also make sure that if she changes the name of her store from “Wonderxue” to something else, you’re not buying from Yuan Chen (that’s her actual name).

If you insist on buying from her (bad idea!) then make sure to click purchase through PayPal, and pay with a credit card.  That way, if she disappears with your money (as she did with me), you can dispute the claim through both PayPal and your credit card.

Watch out.

I ordered my dress from Wonderxue on March 08, was promised the dress by the end of April.  I was told over and over again that it was under making and it would be “shipping soon”. I was also promised pictures 3 times (that I never did receive).

Finally this week, I asked for a refund and told them I was going to dispute the charge (I only paid a down payment of half, which was around $300.).  They told me that my dress had shipped and to let them know when it arrived…without even approving any of the design with me or sending pictures first.

So… I received this dress, which is pretty, but ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like what I told her I wanted. My Mother even called me when she opened it and said “this looks nothing like you, or something you would buy”.  I think she just took a dress that she already had made and sent it out so I wouldn’t file a dispute and get my money back.  I am not a sparkles, jewels, glitter kind of gal and this dress is NOT ME AT ALL.  I won’t wear it, and I am very heartbroken!  I was so excited about this dress!

The top picture is what I asked for (exactly as picture).  Vintage lace overlay, Queen Anne neckline, keyhole back.  No sparkles or beads.

The bottom is the dress I received.  Ummm…WTH.  Where did the beaded sash come in to play?

To be fair, it is close.  But the beads and sparkles do it in for me.  I can’t take the sash off because it’s sewn in to the sides and buttons on the back.  I also think if she quotes me around $500 and I am put through so much garbage with this order, I should receive my very specific request of “no beads or sparkles”.

I am now also in a dillema, because I obviously do not want to pay her the other half of the price she quoted me, or send it back and be with no dress and no money like a lot of other girls who have purchased from her.

@amgsanabria:

It’s a flower girl dress for an 8 year old. I think it was rushed but it was only $65 and will work for 1 day and is alot cheaper than dessy dresses I have had to buy my daughter for other weddings. I still would not recommend this seller. So many other woman have complaints and also this is a cheap flower girl dress not my wedding dress! So if it failed it wouldn’t be the end of the world.
