Hi ladies! So I’m getting married in 6 weeks! There’s always songs that I cringe when I hear them at weddings. My main one being Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”. Idk why, but its just gets under my skin.
For some reason I’m drawing a complete blank on a lot of songs lol. What songs were on your alls no play list?

@cupcakebride2013: Black Eyed Peas….was an absolute no no for us.
Funny thing, I LOVE the chicken dance and told our DJ a million times we must have it. He ignored me and didn’t do it. I was not happy. 🙁

@cupcakebride2013: honestly, I like most of the songs on Julie’s list! Ha! For me it would be no chicken dance, no Macarena, no Chris Brown (great dance songs but I hate him), no “Grease Megamix” and basically no anything in which women are referred to as bitches or hos.

There is this song called “Crazy Bitch”, by Buckcherry. This woman played it and danced to it while walking down the aisle. The words are so nasty, and there were kids at the wedding. I felt so horrified for her. I’m all for doing what you want as long as you aren’t hurting anyone else, but I felt sorry for everyone there.

@Treejewel19: yeah I’m not a huge BEP fan… aww that sucks. specially if you specifically asked him =(
@MexiPino: I don’t like chris brown as a person, but he’s a pretty dang good musician lol. I’m into a lot of hiphop/rap. . .I kinda learned what was “acceptable” at my SIL wedding a few months ago. It’s gonna be fun lol.
@Ruby_Constantine: I know that song very well…. my best friend in high school loved rock music and I always listened to it with him. That’s very inappropriate for walking down the isle. That’s a little to far in my opinion…

Our “Do Not Play” list only consisted of two words: NO COUNTRY! haha

Gotye somebody that I used to know.
A DJ seriously played that during dinner at a wedding I went to a couple of years ago. Great song, and Gotye is a musical genius, but at a wedding?

Dh and I are huge country fans, so our reception reflected that. I gave the DJ a ‘must play’ list and we requested a lot of songs as well.
We did have a few rules, no stupid dance songs (excluding Bootscooting Boogie), nothing raunchy, nothing with too much profanity.

Pretty much anything after the year 2000 lol.

I wish I had out Gangam Style on our do not play list, but it didn’t occur to me since everyone stopped listening to it ages ago. Our DJ played it, naturally.
