@msmini I love the signs! I might have to get one

I do NOT think it is unreasonable to put one of these silly reminders up. People WILL touch. I had a complete stranger lift up my shirt and touch my bare stomach before I could object. That being said, I don’t think I’ll have a sign until someone tries 🙂

While I get it, and I am all for telling strangers not to touch (I have lots of visible tattoos and people think it’s okay to stroke them?) I think that having a sign makes people look a little crazy. Your kid is not an animal at a pet store, you know?

For all those who wonder about who touches a stranger’s baby?  I work retail and it happens ALL THE TIME.  Many people cover the carriers/strollers with blankets.  I agree that kids need to be exposed to all sorts of things, but strangers touching them is not one of those things.  Love these signs!

I just flew with my 5 month old, and you wouldn’t believe what people will do! An older man sat next to us and tried to touch his hands – he puts everything in his mouth, and I do not want him sucking on whatever this guy has touched. A girl in her 20s or so got RIGHT in his face- if she did that to me I would have punched her! Hello, personal boundaries? I mean, I get it, but touch the foot or something and stay back a respectful distance.

That said, I think I’d just speak up next time and not use a sign.

Yes..strangers will come up and touch the baby……..and of course you think..”well I will just ask them nicely not too..” sometimes there is NO time for that..Seriously….I have a boy and a girl…my daughter is now 3yrs……and I still get it.

She has super curly hair……and for some reason people think its an invitation to touch her curls….

When she was an infant and in a car seat like the kids in the pictures or even us holding her in her arms..people would comment on how cute she is and proceed touching her…Drove me crazy….My husband could not stand it……..and it really caught us off guard……I could never do that…….

okay confession: i watch bethenny getting married…like religiously (along with everything else on bravo). aaanyway, i noticed that she had one of these little signs on her baby’s carrier when they took it out for the day! don’t know how i feel about them – i would never assume it was ok to touch a stranger’s baby, or even an acquaintance or coworker. it just seems unnatural? but if i saw a carrier with one of these signs, i would probably just assume the parents were uptight and a little OCD…but i don’t think i’d be offended per se.
