- Wedding: October 2013
We booked Urbane Wedding Company on March 27th for videography services. They offered a very competitive rate of $750 for 2 videographers for up to 10 hours on the wedding day. They stated that the reason that it was so well priced was because a service discount was added to the amount (since I’m a nurse) and because they outsource to area videographers/photographers (they are nationwide) and then all of the videos are sent to a central location for editing. Since other videographers in my area were similarly priced, but this was the best, we would give it a try. We gave 50% and a deposit.
Fast forward to this morning when I decided to pay the balance off. I try to go to the website to pay, only to find the link redirecting TO A PORN SITE. I thought WHAT. So I tried typing it in rather than clicking the link in the e-mail, thinking there was something wrong there. Nope, same porn site. Now I’m panicking and I go onto weddingwire.com to see what the hell is going on. Evidently they no-showed to several weddings and have dropped off the face of the Earth. I tried calling the number (I spoke with someone at this same number) and it is disconnected.
I am heart broken. I know it is not a terribly large sum of money in the grand scheme of things, but that was our hard earned money that we are paying for ourselves! That $375 could have gone to so many more things, like more presents for our amazing bridal party or letting me pay for their make up or hair like I originally wanted.
I did pay through paypal, but it has been 4 months. I am so mad at myself for trusting this company, but I thought I was so careful by reading reviews and physically speaking with someone from the business. Has anyone had luck with escalating a claim through paypal after the deadline date?
