Someone nicknamed my nursing preceptor’s baby “Lumpy”, so she quickly came up with “Roo” (as in “Kanga &”), because she didn’t want the other option to catch on!

yeah, that’s annoying. I haven’t had anyone call my baby an annoying nick name. One of my guy friends occasionally asks “how’s the fetus”, or “how’s little fatty”, but it just makes me laugh. I don’t find it annoying. I think bubs sounds a little cutesy/annoying. But I prob wouldn’t say anything because it’s not that big a deal and would probably only hurt their feelings.

My hubby and I still just call her baby. One of my really good friends gave her the nickname Petunia because we are keeping her name a secret until she is born. She asked long ago if that was ok and I said yes because I just think it’s adorable, not annoying!

I call all my friends bumps (and now, babies) peanut for a nickname. I hope to one day get a bump and most certainly will refer to my bump as “peanut” then too. 🙂

Most of our friends call our son peanut BUT a few members of DH’s family have taken to calling the baby Junior. Neither of us really like it because we’re not planning on naming the baby after my husband and we’re not big fans of the nickname in general!

We call her baby or we use her name. DH’s mom referred to her as peanut the other day, which is cute, but that’s what his brother and sister in law call their baby so we told her that’s their nickname not ours. So we just call her Ava or Baby.

I think some names are okay, bubs particularly would not be. But fetus would be funny, like a PP said, and peanut is cute, and I love the nickname roo haha. So some would be okay, but I would prefer baby (some day when I am pregnant haha)
