I’ve been asked by friends, co-workers and my patients and I tell them. Strangers haven’t come up and asked me about my ring. That would be weird. =S

I get asked often how big it is.  When I get asked how much it cost, I just tell them where it is from and I do not know how much he spent.

I get asked, so I just tell them.

I think only my best friend asked & I told her. I don’t think it’s that big a deal, even if a stranger were to ask.

When I get asked in real life, it generally makes me uncomfortable. my solitaire is larger then what most people have in my area, so the question of “how big is that thing?” Is usually dripping with distain. However, when im asked on the bee, im not uncomfortable at all answering. I know you guys are just generally curious.

My mom, my SIL and a good friend asked. No one else.

My mom and friend can get away with it, SIL was a different story. Probably because of the way she asked and other issues I have with her.

No one else has ever asked its actual size.

I’ve had ppl ask, and I tell them. I find it a little uncomfartable though. I had two people I work with make negative comments about the size (both men) one said-Jesus, were paying you to much!” and the other said “dont you think that’s a little big?” Both times I said FI picked it out and I think it’s perfect…. the women at work love it though!

Ive never had anyone ask but it isnt a solitair it has over 50 smaller stones. I constantly get completements and everyone grabs my hand to look at it close. It shines lots and is not at all traditional so people are just very curious. The only thing people ask me is weather Im going to add a band to it (which I will not I will just move it to the next hand). Im actually proud at how little it cost so I will easily tell people that I love the ring and much prefer it over a 20 000$ ring and it was only 1200$ so I have no problem people asking all sorts of things. I actually have no clue to the number of carrats and I dont think it really matters at all.

@lilsweetie:  Only one of my friends did, and I just told her the truth.  I said it was over 2 carats but didn’t say the exact carat weight.

I don’t know that anybody has directly asked…maybe some close friends which I don’t mind…

I’ve been asked, but only by people close enough that I don’t mind telling (ie, not some random stranger who’s going to mug me for it).  It’s 1ct center stone with .25 side stones, so it’s on the larger side, so people do tend to ask.  The funniest was my boss, who is the nerdiest dude you could ever meet.  He asked and when I told him, he was like “wow, that’s what you’re supposed to buy? My wife got cheated!”

I’ve mostly been asked by close friends, and that’s kind of a normal inquiry from good friends, I think. Just curiosity (and maybe a desire to compare, friendly-like, of course). Others who have asked have been people close to getting engaged who are trying to learn what X caret-sized stone looks like.

My sister asked–so that she can demand at least double if she ever gets engaged.  *eye roll*
