bctoquebec :  My SIL asked me in front of my then fiancé and our entire family what carat size my center stone in my e-ring was. Hers is 1 carat, and mine is .73 center, 1.4 total, and I felt it was inappropriate to ask that and that she was trying to call out her center stone was bigger because I was newly engaged and people kept commenting on my ring’s sparkle.

We have sex 15 times a day with no foreplay and my husband has a 17inch member. Did I mention I was 103lbs and approximately 34inches tall???

I’m getting a .80 carat center diamond. I know it is small for this board. But I don’t think many people will ask about the size IRL. If they do I’m prepared to say a little over 3/4 carat. And if they care to know the other specs I will proudly tell them. I researched diamonds forever. Lol like I stare at my gia certificate and could be tested on measurements. Lol (I don’t even have my ring officially, lol, it is in the safe until proposal)

I know my partner worked very hard to save and pay cash for. And frankly anyone who knows us IRL knows we aren’t super rich so not like a 2 carat is expected or fits lifestyle.

bellebelle :  .8 carats isn’t small, even on this board. Plenty of people have rings in the .5-.9 range.

I have a .833 ct ring. I see no reason to lie, since people depend on information to make decisions.

I also think my center stone is plenty big IRL. Most of my coworkers have smaller center stones, alternatives, or cluster rings. I’m a teacher.

slomotion :  I mean she didn’t lie about her carat size, she just lied about everything else.  It was a 3 carat ring.  She used to put it in a Cartier or Tiffany box and post pics of it in the box too.  She said it was a rose gold ring, but it was a rose gold plated ring, which started melting/chipping off when she decided to bake it.

OP, I round up for my ring.  My center stone is 1.91 carats, but I usually just say 2 carats if someone asks.

*did not read the entire thread*

But also?  many people don’t even know their own carat size.  I don’t know why they would though.

The one who lied about her stone specs (and once passed off an ASHA as a diamond) actually changed her user name three times but her finger was very distinct so everyone knew who it was 😉  It was a shame becasue all of her rings were quite lovely and would have been appreciated for what they were.

harlequinade :  thanks. I guess I only see the large carat post more. Lol

My mom saw the ring during her visit and said it looked huge. It has a smaller band and side stones so that probably helps.

My bf at first was insistent that it needed to be one carat. I think he heard one of my more materialistic friends say 1 carat was minimum. Ugh. But I told him we needed excellent cut and that in 1 carat was out of budget. When he saw the actual ring he told me it looked to him like the perfect size.

Now he just needs to give it to me so I can stare at everyday. Lol

The Bee is one thing. The internet is full of people hiding behind screens and lying to look better to the world and themselves. But in real life? Maybe some do, because of the same… they want to seem better, bigger, just more than they are. And that is what competition and rich bitches on instagram do to people. But that’s a group of people, not everybody. What gets me is the twats that pick on others for their smaller sized diamonds or gemstones instead of diamonds. To each their own. The ring is special to the couple and it represents their love – it doesn’t need to be 3 carats to make their love any more real. Or worthwhile. And anyone that calls others out or shames them for smaller stones is downright cruel. Big or small, it’s the thought that counts.

cq123 :  I may have taken some screenshots of that thread because I couldn’t believe my eyes and wanted to be able to quote it correctly. All I can say is I would accomplish very very little as far as housekeeping and hobbies go if my appetites were as such.

Ive never lied about the ct size of my diamond, it is spot on 1.3 cts.  However I have often wondered when some post specs if they are giving tcw instead of the center stone alone.  Not that I really care, just an occasional passing thought

Oh, and my man sports a respectable 5.7 inches, though it’s really not about the length…am I right ladies? 😂
