I got MOST of the gifts off of my registry before the wedding (bridal shower and engagement party).  I think only 3 people bought off the registry for the wedding itself.  But there also wasn’t much left at that point.

Not me. Most of our gifts have been bought and given to us before the wedding – as engagement gifts or gifts for my 2 showers.

Don’t stress. Some people bought from our registry on their way to our shower and wedding.  I was freaking out also, but people just forget. About 2 days before the event is when you will start to see movement.

Nothing was bought until the day of our shower. Now, after the wedding, almost everything has been bought from it. Not all of the silverware, all of the bedding, or the rolly-drawers for kitchen cabinets (the thing we most wanted since it would most improve our quality of life, but I guess they weren’t exciting enough to buy). But everything remaining we can easily buy ourselves or exchange our duplicates for.

@vasfinest:  Yes, we did! We received one gift from Target off our registry through the mail but it had no name on it other than Target. I was able to call Target and after about 30 minutes of waiting, find out who it was from. We also received a gift from Amazon, which was on the Target registry, it also had no name, we tracked it down, as well. I also received a mixer I asked for from Kohls instead of Target.

People will look at registry and purchase items there or wherever they can get the best price. If they didn’t mark it off your registry because they didn’t purchase it there, you can always go in there and delete the item off the registry.

I was pleasantly surprised at all the stuff we got off our registry.  We didn’t get a few items we really wanted but we got a lot of stuff.  People also bought stuff on thier own (not from the registry)… I only really dodn’t like a handful of stuff…most of the gifts we got off registry we liked.
