Not sure how someone found out it was a troll but there sure are some smart cookies here.
I love all you Bees, I hope you all know that, even when we disagree. I respect everyone’s opinion and I learn something new every day, I swear.

@Sunfire: I believe the OP brought up rape and frankly the lack of consent is what jumped out at me so I would have mentioned it as some point.
The issue I have is that yes, it’s terrible to be accused and convicted of a crime you didn’t commit, however, rape accusations very, very rarely make it past the police report. Between people dissecting the victim’s account to find out if it’s “legitimate” and our legal and justice systems working very much in favour of the rapists, an accusation really rarely ruins anything. However being raped and being dismissed once you have worked up the courage to tell someone is incredibly damaging.

Oh that post.. I had been reading it, didn’t comment on it. Crazy when things like that just disappear.

A poster found the reddit article and posted it, but it was in the guy’s point of view (which MANY of the readers said he was raped, for what it’s worth). I’m sure the mods checked out the WB user profile, saw it was brand new, and deleted the post since it was obviously a troll. A useful troll, but a troll nonetheless.

@ltcolumbo: If the girl was drunk and said NO and he forced her, yes it is rape. If she was drunk and passed out and he had sex with her, it is rape, too.
But if both of them are drunk and do the deed willingly in their drunken state, how fair is it for a girl to turn around and cry rape on a boy later on?
That’s what I’m trying to say. Men can get raped too, btw.

@Sunfire: Yup, men can get raped, who ever said they could not? The fact is – drunk people can’t give consent, period. I’m not talking about fairness, I’m talking about what the facts are. You talk about false claims of rape – how often do you think that happens? What about women who do not report rape because they are too scared? Which do you think happens more often? (The second one is the answer)
FYI I’m stepping out of this thread because I am in the other one now.

I’m interested in hearing this answer, especially since there were a lot of posts on that thread. I’ll flag for a mod to answer!

Trolls are here solely to create drama or conflict. As such, threads started by trolls that are offensive or inflammatory in nature are deleted. Sometimes, a troll will post an innocuous thread (or comment) to disguise their troll-eqsue features. If the content is harmless enough, these threads will sometimes simply be closed to avoid the confusion or frustration that hive members rightfully feel when they’ve been participating in a thread that turns out to be the product of a troll.
Hope that helps. 🙂

@ltcolumbo: If a man and a women are both drunk and neither give consent but have sex then aren’t they, in essence, raping each other, by your logic? I think that was the point that Sunfire was trying to make when saying that men can get raped too.
