Really just depends on the salon you are purchasing from, many will not discount gowns from a previous collection unless the design has been discontinued and they have it in the store (sample). Even if it is discontinued some shops still will not discount unless the dress has something wrong with it dirty, ripped, etc. I wouldn’t bet on being able to get a dress at this point from a 2011 collection on a discount most likely it will still be in production for at least another year. You may be able to get a discount on a dress from a 2008-2010 collection. The best bet if you want a newer dress is to ask if they will discount a sample that they have in the store. I wouldn’t count on getting a discount if you are wanting to order a new dress.

From my experience: generally not unless it’s a sample dress. If they have to order it for you, it will cost the same.

Depends on the popularity of the dress, the brand and the bridal store . Davids bridal dreses change prices all the time, and big salons like kleinfields have blow out sales of old styles every so often, but smaller private salons usually keep the dresses at about the same price.

In November/December MANY bridal ateliers will have sample or blowout sales to make room for next years stock. Here in NYC, there were TONS of sample sales around this timing and huge opportunity to score designer dresses for a fraction of the price. But as another Bee mentioned, this is usually the case with dresses that will no longer be produced.

@sheilamelo:  it depends on the store/designer.  but sometimes you can get 10% off or even more if you just ask.
