That seems very unprofessional.

ladykatie82: Whaaaaa? I used to get Brazilians every six weeks and I’ve never had an experience like that. Was the aesthetician inexperienced or new? Either way, that’s horribly unprofessional and inappropriare especially since the salon offers those services.

I have brazilians every six weeks and have never had an experience like that. She does use a different sort of wax around the “goods,” but nothing else changes. It’s a putty-type substance for that area.

You ladies are brave. I got a bikini wax once and I was in tears…..never again. When she asked if I wanted a brazillian following the bikini, I told her she is crazy. Aye

I am an esthetician and I have to say that her attitude and behavior was completely unprofessional! Most of the girls I work with do Brazilian waxing, but those that don’t like it usually don’t do them. I personally don’t mind doing them myself, I get them done also and have never met anyone who would discourage it! It’s awesome! I would definitely find a new esthetician.

ladykatie82: And no gloves, too? No wonder why it seemed that she didn’t want to finnish.

No gloves? She should lose her job.

I want to get one for our wedding but I am so scared!! If my person was at all hesitant I would probably stop no questions asked.

I only want one so I don’t have to pack a razor on the honeymoon lol life is hard.

Yikes! That’s not normal! My very first waxing I was too chicken so I went for a bikini wax, and the esthetician was trying to convince me to go brazillian! In fact, when I get a brazillian now, she is always talking about how great they are and how everyone should get one.
I think you need to find a new salon!

I had my first Brazilian today! The esthetician was personable, sang the praises of Brazilian the whole time and was pretty quick. It was painful but bearable and really only took about twenty minutes. She didn’t seem particularly bothered.

She sounds pretty unprofessional – particularly working without gloves. It shouldn’t be slower around ‘the goods’ – at least I’ve never had it like that. Agree you should try a new salon

If you decide to go again – I once went and was in incredible pain and the therapist said to me – is your period due? She told me the week before and week after you’re at the most sensitive (duh, should be obvious but didn’t occur to me) and the pain will be much worse. So, make sure you go later than a week after you’re on.

PS:Remember to exfoliate the whole area a couple days after!

Sounds like she was being a cow. I’ve had it done by a few people and they always whp it off quick. The best person i had used a cool pack as well every time she ripped a bit off she put the cool pack on to take the sting off. Area didn’t even get red after and seriously there wasn’t a hair left on me she even tweezed some! Unfortunatly she’s now an hour and a half away from me 🙁
