I have this same issue. I’m sweat so severely, I actually have hyperhydrosis (sp?). I have used quite a few of the “clinical strength” deoderants, and none of them work.

The best thing I have found is vinegar. I have a spray bottle of it by the washer and I pay attention to which shirts kind of smell in the armpit-area. I spray some on (drench it, actually) and then let it sit while I put the rest of the load in. Spray BOTH sides,t oo.

If they still smell coming out of the washer, try using a quarter cup of white vinegar in the fabric softener cycle. You might smell some faint vinegar odor but by the time the clothes are dry it’ll be gone.

@pokie45:  I can’t say I have to deal w. this, but maybe you put too much laundry into the machine at once and your shirts don’t get a chance to really wash? Just a suggestion.

Try those new Downy Unstoppables or whatever they’re called. They’re supposed to infuse your clothes with pretty smells lol. I want to try them.

Also, you might want to add some sort of in-wash booster. I know Tide makes those little ball things you can just throw in to get the tough stains (and I assume smells) out. Same w. Oxy Clean.

@PacificMrs:  For you ladies with hyperhydrosis, have you tried Drysol (I think that’s what it’s called) antiperspirant? It’s more powerful than the “clinical” Degree, Secret etc. Also you can get Botox injections to stop the sweating. My sister does that every few months and it works wonders.

I found a pin on Pinterest about using a mixture of baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and Dawn dish detergent.. I have yet to try it out, though.

@canarydiamond:  I’ve heard about the botox injections, but I’m petrified. I’m scared of needles (says the girl with two tattoos) and the idea of them going into my armpit with one? *shudder*. I’ll have to give that anti-persperant a shot! Thank you!

@canarydiamond:  Drysol is great!  I used it for years.  I haven’t been able to use it lately since I’ve been pregnant, and I’ve noticed the smell has come back a little.  Though I have to say, after using it for a few years (and you do use it less and less the more you use it), even going w/o using it the last few months, it’s WAY less than it used to be.

Botox for your armpits? Weird. Baking soda and dish soap rubbed into the armpits of shirts will remove smells and any a sweat or deodurant stains.

I used to have this problem sometimes. I started using men’s deorderant and I’ve never had the problem again. MEN’s deoderant works so much better than women’s!!
