I was just wanting to make sure there wasn’t too much of a disconnect between the songs. We’re having one song for the processional since it’s just fiance with his brother and the officiant, our parents, and me and my brother walking together. Originally I wanted Canon in D but I want something different. So then I thought What a Wonderful World (Louis Armstrong version) would sound pretty. But we’ve been trying to figure out how to incorporate our song into the wedding since the reception is just a dinner restaurant reception. So I’m thinking now the processional can be I’m Yours by Jason Mraz (our song in which some of the lyrics have come to mean a lot to us). The recessional has to be The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra because my mom is dedicating it to us from my grandma since she passed away when I was 14 and my mom knows she is the one person I wish could witness my wedding. So will I’m Yours sound weird if it’s followed later by the Sinatra song? Should we stick to the Louis Armstrong song for the processional? What do you guys think?

I love “I’m Yours”! That’s our song too! 🙂 I don’t think the songs need to necessarily match. But, I think it may be hard to walk in to I’m Yours. I know I would find it awkward to walk it to! If it were me, I’d stick with “What a wonderful world” for the processional – nice and slow, perfect for walking in. Will you be announced at the restaurant? I’m Yours would be perfect for that! It’s so fun and upbeat!!!

@PumpkinSpiceChai: We found a slower version in concert and we were thinking about trying to get that in a non-live version which might work better. I just know the styles are so very different from each other.

I think it’s fine! I don’t really think the songs need to “match”, and plus, you’re playing them on opposite sides of the ceremony, so there’s kind of a buffer anyway. Go for it.

I think it’s fine. We are having cannon in D and The Bridal March for our processional and I’m Yours as the recessional. They definitely don’t match, but there is a whole ceremony service between, so it will be fine.

I think it’s fine. It’s all about the two of you and what you want. We’re having Cannon in D and The Bridal March for the processional and the theme song to Indiana Jones for the recessional (can you picture us dashing up the aisle?) and those songs don’t match.
