Darling Husband and I had a destination wedding so at the end of August my parents are hosting a large outdoor reception in our home state for all our friends and family who couldn’t make the trip.
Which means I need help on what to wear!
I’ve fallen in love with this dress
My wedding dress was lace and I’ve already received several requests from family for me to wear my actual gown on that day (Umm no!) So in my mind this is the next best thing.
Now on to the dilemma. Shoes. Do they shoes work? I definitely want something flat (I’m already 5’11 … no need for heels.) Plus we’ll be walking around in grass all day. If not please give me suggestions. I’m so terrible at finding the right accessories. Maybe a cute sandal?

I don’t think they’re dressy enough. Your dress is simple, so go for flashier shoes.

- Wedding: May 2013 - Pavilion overlooking golf course scenery, reception at banquet hall
I love them and think they’re perfect for a backyard get together!

Thanks for your votes and comments ladies!
@solidarity: Any recommendations on a flashier shoe style?

@LedeLady: I love your dress! I think those shoes are cute, but if your still not sure, did you try DSW? They have some dressy flats.

@LedeLady: Those are adorable! I’m thinking of wearing them for my wedding. You can always bedazzle them up a bit with some small shoe clips or some bling.

Also some really cute comfortable shoes that I got just for fun and I love! Might wear these for my wedding… in ivory. They are on a huge sale! 🙂

I love those and you can wear them afterwards. I think it does make the look more casual but it is still very lovely.

@nawella: I like your thinking with possibly adding a shoe clip!
@wishingwelljune: That’s what I was thinking too. They’d be perfect to wear to the office. It’s not a very formal reception. Since I’m guessing it will be hot and humid most people will probably wear shorts and t-shirts. So that would probably make me look a little more dressed up anyway.
@ThyLadyThompson: Forgot about DSW! I’ll have to see if I can find anything I like more. Althought I’m loving the peeptoe and bow on these.

I have these same shoes in blue for my wedding. They are really comfy due to the cushions inside, but they do feel a little large in the heel. If you don’t get these, I think a metallic flat sandal would look nice too.

If you’re going to be walking around in grass all day, I would recommend looking for something with more support. DSW has some pretty, good quality flats that are really comfy.
