I’ve been silently reading the boards for quite some time now (to be honest, for an embaressingly long time before I actually got engaged) – but this is my first post! I need advice.
I’m going to be wearing the Pronivias Fresno, and I’m looking for shoes that will match. My colors are pastel shades of pink and rose, with tan and charcoal as accents – so I was thinking of wearing nude/tan shoes with my lace dress. I found some Stewart Weitzman heels that I love, but I’m wondering if they’re too casual, and I’m a bit worried about the bow on top getting caught on my hem. What do you guys think? Would they go? I have no idea how to match shoes to a lace dress that I can’t take shopping with me!

IMHO, I’m not a huge fan of your shoes. Aside from that, I do not think they match. When I think of lacey gowns, I think of simple shoes, like a ballet flat or something similar.

@addex33: Hi I think they’re too casual. Personally they’re smart for the office you need something more delicate looking.

I think if they were in a dressier material like satin or even lace they might match better.
Another option could be patent. Before I found my shoes I was in LOVE with these ones from Valentino. I think your style could work but the material is too casual (like PPs seem to think.)

Thanks guys! I appreciate the input 🙂
@canuckandakiwi: Those are gorgeous! Did the shoes you ended up wearing also have a bow in the front? Did it get caught on your dress at all?

These were my babies (LOL) but we got married at City Hall so my dress was short and they didn’t get caught. I’m wearing them again at our reception in Sept with a longer dress but the front of my dress is a split hem and less likely to get caught on the buckles. I would be worried as well.
I think your color idea is right, I would consider going lighter than what you have in the picture and a differnt type of leather. Or that type of leather but than a strappy sandal.
Actually I was looking at nude shoes since I’m a BM in a wedding and my friend requested nude. I got a Via Spiga design similar to these Louboutins which I love but wouldn’t spend the $ on.
But Kate Spade does a version as well which are likely similar in price to the Weitzmans (and now that I look, the heel height is similar to them along with having a platform.) Those would have been the ones I’d buy if I were buying them for myself

I do not like them for your dress. Your dress needs a more formal shoe…which would require a different material. I assume you want some type of colored peep-toe heels with a bow… there are numerous shoes that would fit your specifics. Try google and look under bridal sections. I just did a quick google search for you and found these (sorry I tried to decrease size of pic). Not sure about purchasing from that specific site but I’m sure you could find something similiar from a trusted store/website.

I love the dress! Personally not a fan of those shoes with your dress at all. I think as others have mentioned the texture and style of the 2 of them just don’t work. I feel they are 2 casusal for the dress.
Edit…I see you like a bow. What about something like this for your dress?

Thanks for all the responses! I love the shoes you guys recommended, but I have very little faith in my ability to walk in really high heels without falling flat on my face. That was what I liked about the shoes I found – it has the look of a high-heel shoe, but the heel is 3.5″, and platform is 1″. So they should still be really comfortable.
I’m 5″2 and my fiance is 6″3, so I need some extra height though – otherwise I’ll need a stool for our wedding pictures!
I’ll keep looking 🙂
