There is no rule that says you need to but it is nice for the older crowd who doesn’t use social media to see an engagement picture 🙂

No you don’t, and you also don’t need to take engagement photos at all… those are a really new trend and not required.

Of course not. Not to mention Save The Dates themselves are not necessary.

Nope. We put a nice picture of our venue and the landscape around it instead! But you really don’t need a picture at all if you don’t want.

heatdisneybride :  our save the date was our shoes (while wearing them) by the canal taken during our trip somewhere. The relax mode was what we are aiming for. This is an example from google image search. Sorry can’t share ours.

No. I actually hate save the dates with cringey engagement photos on them.

No. In fact you don’t need save-the-dates unless people will be traveling.

No of course not. The older crowd hasn’t even heard of engagement photos, let alone expect to see them.

Nope! Definitely not. ‘Engagement photos’ really only got popular 5-8 years ago? Pretty much when social media blew up.

We did our save the date via email, but if you just google save the dates you’ll see there are loads of text only options.

Engagement photos are not a new thing.  Everyone I know did engagement photos when we got married and that was 23 years ago.

They are not necessary on your save the dates, but I think they are nice to see.

No. I feel like if people don’t know me by my name than I shouldn’t be inviting them. Older folks who choose not to use social media, or anyone who chooses not to use social media, can be shown pictures in person- the way photos used to be shown before social media.

Nope, we recently got a save the date with an awkward forced pose engagement photo and it’s sooo cringey!
