I never take favors, programs or cutesy things. Or I do because they are handed to me, they are thrown away before I get to the car.

I’m really torn here, too. I definitely think it must be a regional thing, but I cannot recall a single wedding I have ever been to that didn’t have a favor – so I almost feel that it would be expected in my circle. But I’m practically drowning in koozies/etched wine glasses/etc, so I don’t think I’d want to do anything like that…but I also don’t want to spend a ton.

If we do decide to do a favor type of thing, here are my contenders right now:
-Candy: I’ll buy it wholesale, and just get cheap baggies for guests to put it in. Maybe I’ll buy a stamp with our monogram or something.
-A favor that doubles as the escort card/seating chart. My fiance’s cousin did this with little succulents for everyone last year. It was pretty cute.
-Not really a ‘favor’, but maybe have a food truck show up toward the end of the night when everyone gets the munchies

My SO and I have discussed wedding favors recently. If we do anything, it’ll be little pint jars of apple pie moonshine– something they can drink for the night, and it’s a family recipe, plus it’s super cheap to make a big batch!

happybridetobee2017 :  My mother is Italian and she gets all huffy if there aren’t any. But my mom is old school. As a PP said, one wedding we were at there wasn’t any favors and oh my dear lord in the morning all the old schoolers were out of their mind.

The last wedding she went to had them at every other seat, which I thought bizzare.

I think most people are moving away from them since they are so expensive and pointless, unless its a sugary treat and a sugary treat is never pointless.

We’re not doing them. Waste of money IMO.

I agree with PP, they are usually a waste. food/candy is nice, anything else usually gets thrown away.
