We’re getting our engagement pics done tomorrow.
We realized tonight we are probably supposed to tip. Anyone know the etiquette and how much we should tip.
The package we purchased (through a silent auction) is 200$
Edit: We don’t know whether the photog is the owner…we tried to use our google skills but their site doesn’t say.

Ummm I’m at a loss, sorry. This thought would never have crossed my mind.

I would tip them since it was a free service. I think $50 would be sufficient.
Edit: Just re-read your post. So you did pay for the service? Was the photographer self-employed or an employee of a business?

@AlwaysSunny: Well we didn’t pay the photog. We won a silent auction where the proceeds went to a chartity.
The value of the package was 200$ and we bid 200$ and won so I figure we would be basing the tip off that amount.
And yeah…we don’t know if the photog is the owner. The business has a generic photog name and when we called to set it up we were calling a cell phone and they just answeed “hello” lol. We didn’t think to ask. And it feels weird to ask in the moment if it’s going to determine whether we hand the bill over or not.
