I have always wanted a bright, colorful wedding. Me and my FH also like cold weather, and have never wanted to get married in the scorching hot part of the year. Will it “look stupid” to have a bright colorful wedding in early December? Personally, I think it will be just fine. The other day I told someone we were thinking about a date in December, and she responded, “Oh! A Christmas wedding!” I don’t want anyone to immediatly think this. Any suggestions?

I think bright colorful colors are so cheery in the winter! Do what you want!

I think it would be totally fine! You should just decorate for whatever vibe you want, regardless of the season. I’d love to go to a bright colorful wedding in December.

Have whatever color your heart desires regardless of the season. We are getting married in January, because we don’t want to be hot in wedding attire, we are hoping for snow in our wedding photos, and its SOOOOO much cheaper. Our colors are plum, and black with silver accents here and there. These were my colors no matter what time of year we got married, and regardless of the type of venue; backyard, resturant, casual venue, brewery venue, or fancy type venue. Do what you love!

Thank you! I just needed a little reassurance! :]

Do it! It will be a nice break from all the red and green. And look extra cheery in winter.

I think it’s an awesome idea! Do whatever you want; this is the one day you will get away with it!
We are having a fall wedding (September) but our colors are blue and silver, which I guess technically are winter colors. But I’m not a fan of the orange/red/brown scheme so oh well! Blue it is!

Do what you want – it’s YOUR wedding to make your own and special for you! 🙂

Just pick whatever colours you like. I see on wedding shows that some brides do pick colours according to season.
I know I have an idea of what I would pick.

Check out this blog,
I think you can do some bright without it being out of season.

I agree, do whatever makes sense for your vision. I’m also doing a color in the “wrong” season. Dark jewel toned green, in August. This was the perfect color in my opinion because where we are getting married (not LA) the climate is actually be cooler, like 60 degrees in August and in a foresty area. Sometimes I doubt myself because I don’t know any other August brides doing this traditionally fall/winter color… but then, I don’t know anyone else getting married in cool weather in August…
Do what “works” for you and the environment you want to create.

I had people tell me I should add a bright color to lighten up my wedding because it was at the end of spring/ start of summer and it was too dark. I ended up keeping it all the dark pretty colors I originally chose and it looked so amazing and everyone ended up really loving it. I don’t think seasons should be defined by colors. Have a bright beautiful December wedding that stands out and people will remember and you will love because it’s your day. =D

I think bright colors will be fine in December. What colors are you thinking of going for?

Instead of red and green do pink and lime green. Still fits the season a fresher version of Christmas colors that is bright and tons of fun. I love it.
