    Legalize it the way alcohol is legal. Over a certain age. Can’t do it at work/while driving, etc. Tax the crap out if it like they do cigarettes and alcohol.

    I don’t buy any of the arguments for keeping is illegal. It’s not an evil to the public if done away from those who don’t want to be exposed to the smoke (in the case of smoking). Aside from charges related specifically to pot being illegal, pot is not a significant factor in crime or accidents. Plus, we waste valuable and limited resources prosecuting pot users and imprisoning them. Why are pot smokers in jail when violent offenders get released on probabtion early because jails are too full?

    Legal for whatever reason.

    There are very few (if any) down sides to marijuana.  I have seen it help a lot of people with various medical conditions.

    @Glasgowbound:  I agree with this. I really don’t see any reason for it to be illegal.

    Only for medical reasons that it’s been proven for. Strict regulation and by perscription only.

    If alcohol and cigarettes can be legal then I think marijuana should be too.

    @mrsSonthebeach:  I completely agree.

    And I say this as someone who does not smoke marijuana, nor do I have the desire to.

    It should be legal for any reason, but especially medical. My mother has crippling rheumatoid arthritis, and I bet that it would help her cope with her pain on bad days, and to keep her moving and exercising her joints all the time. She would never try it while it is illegal, though.

    Also, we could make TONS of money off of the taxes of legal marijuana sales. Also, generate jobs!

    Sounds like win all the way around to me.

    @Follydust321:  me too! I think it’s important that people know that not everyone who supports legalizing marijuana wants to smoke it themselves.

    @mrsbruff2b:  Why do you think it should only be legal for medical purposes?

    I don’t know- there would still have to be regulatons against driving and operating heavy machinery.  I don’t know how that could be regulated though.

    @mrsSonthebeach:  Don’t feel I need to justify my position. =) I would not vote for the legalization of marijuana with the exeption of treating a medical condition. That is all.
