Ok I am normally not the type to believe in this sort of thing but…we live in FI’s grandparent’s house. They both have passed away some time ago and we have made the house ours but still have some things up to remind him of his grandparents who he loved so much. Anyway, we have lived there for 4 years now and i swear it seems haunted! The first year we were thereso many differeny things happens, lights turning on and off, wine glasses breaking, doors closing etc….I dismiss most of them to be both of us being paranoid but last night I just cant explain! Fiance and I were watching TV and allof the sudden we hear this ‘thud” noise that sounds like it’s coming from the front of the house. We have a lab that barks at any movement but he stood up and all the hairs on his back were up but he was silent! So we both get up and go find what made that noise and we find in our bedroom that everything that was on our one ( my side of the bed)nightstand was on the ground ( my planner, bottle of water and ihome stereo). And just moments before I was in the bedroom changing into my PJS and everything was on the nightstand, and the door was shut after I walked out so it wasn’t the dog. I wish I was making this up but I’m not. Both of us were freaked out and I couldn’t even fall asleep last night. Anyone else have something similar happen to them???

Nothing like this has happened to me, but that would have freaked me out! How scary!
I do believe in ghosts. Not apparitions really, but energy I guess you’d call it.

I definitely believe in ghosts! We used to live at FI’s grandparents house…both passed away, and all kinds of weird things used to happen. But just to me!! Everyone thought I was crazy until I had a dream that I talked to his grandfather. I had never even seen a picture of him but I described him to a T and was even able to describe the room we were sitting in and how it was arranged. Apparently the bedroom we were in used to be a den where he would watch tv and smoke his cigars. I even got the color of the carpet right, and when we were in the room it was hard wood floors! There was no way I could have known any of that!
Needless to say, FI’s family believes me now 😛

I do! My SO and I visited an underground morgue tunnel in Savannah, and I snapped this picture of the tunnel (that was completely empty) before we left.

I don’t believe in ghosts in the traditional sense, but I do believe our house is haunted. We hear a man’s voice pretty often, although we have heard a few conversations between him and some woman, too. We’ve seen strange flashes of lights and shadows, heard footsteps, stuff mysteriously falls onto the floor, electronics turn themselves on, etc… It used to really freak me out, but I’ve pretty much come to terms with it, now. My husband even picked a name for our ghost: Steve. 🙂

I never really used too, but I’ve had some items in my house moved a few times and the only explination is a ghost! All I know is my ghost is a friendly ghost, he moved the TV antenna so I get more channels!

Sure do. =) I remember living in a house where I’d hear footsteps upstairs. Everyone (including dogs) would be in the den.

Nope, not at all. But Fiance certainly does.

i have shared a few times on the bee about my experiences with this kind of thing. I most definitely believe in ghosts. I have not had a “scary” experience yet though. I have never felt really truly scared. I have been startled and weirded out and sometimes even amused. But never scared. thank god.

Sure do. There is one in my Future In-Laws house. I was actually just discussing the ghost with my new SIL, who didn’t believe that the house really had a ghost. Since my Father-In-Law couldn’t convince her, she called hubs sister and us (we all lived in the house and the rooms that the ghost occupies). My husband’s sister can talk to ghosts. Its pretty awesome

@MissBoPeep: that is just crazy!

Nope! I think most things can be explained and I also think that our brains can play pretty convincing tricks on us.

I do, most definately. The most in your face experience I had was about 10 years ago. I was house sitting for my sister and I woke up a little before my alarm. I heard VERY distinct footsteps on the front porch (she lived in a raised mobile home at the time, so you can hear everything) and I looked out the window to see who it was and there was no one there. She also had experiences in that house. It belongs to her now ex fiance and before he owned it his Great Aunt and Uncle lived there, and the Uncle died in that house. So whenever anything happens he just says oh hey Uncle so and so LOL

I am a firm believer! My Fiance is literally half Native American and I swear weird things just happen to him like crazy!
When we first started dating we went to Daytona Beach, FL for spring break. The place we stayed had 4 floors and the first 2 were full and we were the only people staying on the third floor and no one was on the 4th floor.
One night we stayed in and we were watching tv and all of a sudden, the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and I feel so weird. I feel like for a few minutes and then my Fiance looks at me and goes “Do you feel that, babe?” and I go “That weird vibe?! Yes!” And we would randomly feel this in the room the rest of the week.
Then on the side of the room we had an air conditioner in the wall. it had an old metal frameover it and we would look over throughout the night and all day and the metal frame would be off and on the floor and neither of us even heard it fall! And late at night, it sounded as though there was someone in the room above us moving furniture all night and no one was on the 4th floor. It was creepy. Scariest Florida trip ever!
But my Fiance and his siblings will all have the same dreams and they have this reoccuring dream that there is this man in their backyard by the river (they live right on the Tuscarawas River) and this guy has jeans and a white t-shirt on and has long black hair and no eyes and he is motioning them to follow him. SO CREEPY!
So yea, I feel ya. I’m really paranoid about stuff like that but I think it’s be kinda cool to call a medium in or something so you can see whose in the house and if its his grandparents or not?

I don’t believe in ghosts. But I was raised Catholic and my parents did a good job instilling the fear of satan in my brain. So whenever something freaky happens the illogical side of my brain thinks it’s satan out to get me. 🙂 My SO has laughed at me plenty of times running up the stairs cause a noise freaked me out.
