I’m not asking for blog links – I know there is a specific thread dedicated to that, which I often check out. I am curious about tips and tricks from successful bloggers. What advice would you give to a wannabe blogger (AKA me)?
What site do you use to host? How did you get readership? What do you blog about and has it evolved? I’m so new to this that I don’t even know what to ask. Advice would be much appreciated!

I’m fairly new to blogging as well (started November 2013), but I can give you some suggestions from what I have learnt so far!
Right now I am on wordpress.com I think I will move over to self hosting pretty soon though because I am finding it to be too limiting.
To get readership, I use all types of social media and I comment on a lot of other blogs. Join up on blog hops/twitter parties/link ups
I write about nutrition, fitness, makeup and my life!

What site do you use to host?
I currently use WordPress. I used Blogger for 3 years and just recently made the switch a few months ago. If you’re just looking to do it as a fun passtime, Blogger will be fine. Self hosted WordPress blogs have a ton more flexibility as far as features and design, so if your blog becomes more than a hobby, that’s probably where you’ll end up. With a self-hosted Wedding Party blog you will need to get a web host and pay hosting fees. WordPress.com or Blogger are free and easy places to get started for fun.
How did you get readership?
It really depends on what you plan to blog about. I tried to build up a body of content before I publicized that I was blogging. That way there was enough there when people visited my blog for them to determine whether they would want to come back. My advice is to first produce quality content with a unique perspective. Once you have that you can start focusing on building your readership.
What do you blog about and has it evolved?
I’m a food blogger and I run a cooking blog focused on lightened up comfort food recipes. The general theme of my blog has not changed but as my skill level has increased, my content has evolved. My readership and blog in general have certainly evolved as well. It started as just a hobby and now it is a lucrative side business that I am hoping to make my full time job over the next year.
