Hmmm… I didn’t *phsyically* purchase my dress over the internet, but I found it on the internet before I went to try it on and buy it.

I would say… if you see a dress online that you love, find out what dress it is first, and then find a salon that carries it and make an appointment to go try it on.

Then you could always go back and buy it on the internet afterwards, but you’d have a way better idea of how it would look on your body and if you find it flattering on yourself or not.

i never order clothes online. i feel like sizes are all wrong.. for example my favorite pair of capris are a size 6, but my favorite pair of jeans is a size 12!? makes no sense to me. i always need to try my clothes on first, especially something as important as a wedding dress.

yep, i was a bridesmaid for my friend. she bought the bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses and her reception dress on the internet, the dresses are gorgeous. i think if you have all the measurements right, there will be no problem. also, lots of my friends have bought wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses on the internet as well. they recommend http://www.7foxmall.com. from what they said, the fabric is quite good and the dresses are well tailored. it is what they wanted and looking for. good luck!

I bought my dress online from Dressilyme.com.  It was 225 dollars.  They custom made it and sent me pictures before they shipped it.  They even made the changes I wanted.  I don’t have a picture of it with me because sadly it is at home and I am 6 hours away at college.  Here is the pic they sent me before it was shipped.

When my parents took it out of the package my dad said it was beautiful.  Then my mom said, “It’s inside out.”

@shirlmasenh:  Hmm, I think it is fine if you find a site with good recommendations like jasmine’s bridal, have a good idea of what suits you (like have tried it on) and get someone else (FI) to do your measurements so they are perfect. But some people just don’t like buying online. Personally about 90% of my clothes are ordered online, so I’m pretty happy with how things look and have gotten used to paying close attention to what dresses especially are made of 🙂

@July6thtobe:  This dress is BEAUTIFUL!  I can’t believe that you got it for that price!  I wonder since you may have been home for christmas break if you’ve seen the dress now??  How is the fabric feel??      I have been checking out that site and it seems AMAZING, almost too good to be true… so I just wondered how it’s working out for you??

I think I may have to end up buying my dress online cause I am a size 22 and very curvy, so my whole shopping experience is going to suck.. and I’ll have to “order” whatever dress I pick.. might as well order something that is a good price..

I am a bigger girl(size 18 wedding dress) I was very dissapointed with my options at the salons and i couldnt find a dress special enough in my price range. I ended up buying a used weddingdress from preownedweddingdress.com. It’s perfect and very unique not to mention a third of retail!(I LOVE ME A BARGAIN) It is an authetic alfred angelo. You can even buy $14,000 dresses on that site for a steep discount. I also heard great things about dressfirst.com (based in china) and simplybridal.com (us based i think) Best bet is to try on dresses so you know exactly what shapes you like and want then just find it online of a fraction of the cost

I bought my dress at lightinthebox.com and couldn’t be happier with it. The quality is SPECTATCULAR and it fit perfectly when it came (I have since lost 50+ pounds and will have it taken in). My seamstress couldn’t believe it was a “China Dress” and that I’d only paid $199 for it. I don’t have a picture of me in the dress, but it is identical to the one on their website:
