I’d ball park it on what you expect, and then adjust based on how many people actually RSVP.

I ballparked it. We’re inviting 255, but we’re only expecting between 140 – 160. I got enough for 20 tables (our ideal table size is 8), knowing that I could use the elements elsewhere, like on the bar or lounge area if we are on the low side.

If we come in way over that, then I will have to make more, which is a little tricky because I ordered everything online, but I’m sure I can find something that will work.

I’m shooting to stay at 20 tables! Another option is that we might do some square tables (which seat a couple more) mixed in if we come in at a higher number.

We have 11 guest tables plus an extra table setup just in case a few people show up who have not sent an RSVP. During the reception, it will be difficult to setup the table and we will not have available linens and decorations. It only cost $8 for hurricane, mirror $5, linens $12 plus $12 for bows and plates are already included. Our caterer is giving a 6-7 extra plates no charge, above that we will have to pay.

Total = $37 = peace of mind to not worry that day

If you can afford to do it, go ahead, and you can always use the table as alternative for something else if it is not being used.
