Like some of the other PP’s, I too think ‘wow, what a rock’ when I see 2+ carats. Personally, I am hoping for something around 1.5 carats πŸ™‚

I’ve never been a jewelry girl, and I’ve never cared about bling. My ring is perfect for me. It’s a 1/4 round solitare and I couldn’t be happier!

That is such a personal question. My ring size is a 6 and my center diamond is 2 carats however to me it doesn’t seem too big, but I’m sure to other bees it might be.

I think it all depends on your personal taste. Would you feel comfortable with having something that large on your finger? I will admit it limits what you can and can’t do with it on (I end up taking it off when I get home).

Obviously with a moissanite the cost won’t be as extreme as a diamond, but it does cost more. I would look into comparing a 1 carat and 1.5 carat initially and see how you feel. Also, if you end up with a halo it look bigger already so you might want to stay under a 2 carat.

I’m a sz 4.25 and I dont think anything really look “big” on my hand until probably 1.75, though I’ve never tried anything bigger on, so I dont know.  I have about 1.3 and I think it looks good, but not big.   I could never justify spending the money on a 2ct diamond, and now that my e-ring is diamond, I cant tuck it away to “upgrade” to a 2ct moissy either… my husband would flip.  πŸ™  I’m screwed in the upgrade department.

I think, for me, that 1ct is big. I would knock it into things, get it caught on things and ultimately just get frustrated with it. When I see 1ct on other girls I don’t think I feel they’re too big. 2ct+ is when I notice, really.

I used to think that anything over 2.5 was big…I’ve since adjusted my thinking, as a result of my own ring and seeing other women’s ginormous rocks in NYC, and now I think anything over 4 would be pretty large. But definitely not TOO big–I don’t think there necessarily is such a thing πŸ™‚

I don’t think 2 would be TOO big, it’s just a matter of personal preference… I’ve got 1.2 on a size 8 ring, and my setting is a bit too high for my taste.  I am CONSTANTLY knocking it against stuff.  πŸ™  I’m looking forward to wearing just my wedding band.

This is my ring, and I am absolutely in love with it.  The total weight is 1.15, and the center stone is .75.  We briefly considered upgrading the center stone to a 1ct when we we looked at it, but it would have overpowered the ring.  As it stands, the stone looks bigger than it is already because of the halo.  I think if it were a solitaire, i would have gone with a 1ct or bigger, but nothing too huge.

My ring is a 0.5 carat and I’m completely comfortable with it.

For me, 1 ct. is big but not over the top.

A 2 ct. ring probably wouldn’t be my style, but go with what YOU like!

I think it’s a very personal decision as to how big you would like for your ring to be!
