Just wondering..do some of you Bees consider specific users on this site to be your friends? Have any of you met in real life?? Do you add each other on Facebook or other social media things? Just wondering! This is really the first forum I’ve ever been on and it seems like there are a lot of people who have been on this site for a long time!

Personally, no. I believe in the anonymity of the site. There are users I like and respect, but nobody that I consider a close enough friend to add on fb or see irl.

I don’t really know enough people from here to say yes. However!! I have made close friends from other sites that I have met in person and still keep in touch with 18 to 15 years after we met. One of my best friends came from a game I played for a long time. Other friends from that game I haven’t had a chance to meet yet but we still keep in touch. Known them about 8 years now. I feel very lucky to have all of them still in my life.

I have some bees on social media and we chat and keep up off the bee. So yes.
Also I’m in a group with some bee moms who had babies the same month I did so we all chat and share pictures of our kids. So I guess I know lots of bees outside the bee.

I met one of my closest friends on here. 🙂 We haven’t met in real life yet because we’re on opposite sides of the country, but I absolutely love her and she’s been such a huge part of my life for the past 4 years now. It probably sounds cheesy AF, but I’ll forever be grateful to this place because this is where I found her.
I’m also part of my baby’s birth month group and those ladies are amazing. I have so much love and respect for each of them and being a mom would be eleventy billion times harder without them.
There are a few others who I keep in touch with outside of here too. It’s especially nice since they don’t post here much anymore and I’m not on here nearly as often as I used to be.

Nope, I like how anonymous this site can be when I need unbiased advice.

I have a whole group of girls from the site I consider my friends. Haven’t met any in person yet but I want to! We’re all fb friends though.

I consider them friendly, and someone whose advice I take seriously. I can’t consider them friends because I don’t know any of them in RL. But I feel that is for the best because they have helped me, (or yelled at me, lol!) over all types of shameful things which I don’t feel comfortable talking to with people in RL.

renayaladisia91 : I think most bees wouldn’t like me in real life. There are many who, if you feel different politically, can’t see around it to your ‘good’ aspects. I wouldn’t mind meeting the ones who live near me just because I need to get a life, but I don’t see it happening. Still there are ones where I read their comments and go “who said that? Oohhh of course, haha” I like ones I’m familiar with, I just don’t know them or hold a strong interest in their lives beyond the boards and their snarkiness.

No.i enjoy the objectivity/impersonality of online discussions. I’ve never had any interest in making friends online tho.

I really do like y’all, but I can’t see myself creating personal a friendship based on the comments offered and the questions asked. Some days I go on a real snark trip too, which is only a fraction of my real personality. I do have reasons for being here and I definitely appreciate the insightful, tough love and polite bunch 🙂
I think when I move into the TTC world, I’ll be more open to creating real relationships here.
