Lily_of_the_valley : I contour all the time (or almost all the time). At first, it took a lot of practice and I would only do it while following along with a YouTube tutorial. But because I do it as an everyday look, I use powdered contour kits instead of cream/liquid. I’ll use the cream or liquid when I have nights out or a wedding or something, but the powdered contouring is usually more subtle, but I can definitely notice a difference, especially when comparing pictures of when I am contoured vs. when I am not.

I’d contour if I was either 1) skilled or 2) had the time.
I’d love to see some Bee’s everyday contour looks on here.

I contour everyday, but lightly. I don’t like the dramatic look from light to dark skin. I just use it to bring out my cheeks and my jaw line more. I hate nose contour, it always looks like someone carved your nose out of clay.

Subtly, I use bronzer to pop the cheekbones and sometimes highlighter, but I don’t usually do full face contour with forehead and nose etc.

I use a highlighter on my cheeks everyday and I use a darker powder or brozer to add depth to the hollow of my cheeks. I don’t ever do a full contour with creams or anything.

Lily_of_the_valley : no and I am to scared to lol. after years only just found the best foundation for me this year lol. I just wear very basic and light pinks/ neutral colours for day to day, then nights out or events glam it up with lipstick , colourful eye shadows , pencil in my browser and eye liner.

I think a little highlighter/bronzer here and there is fine, but people with full face contouring usually look way overdone in real life (JMO). Looks nice in pictures though.

Contouring takes 1 extra minute if you know what you’re doing. It doesn’t throw off your entire day’s schedule lol.

No I don’t. I would consider it if I knew I could get a natural look but I don’t ever see it looking natural! I basically wear blush and mascara. I used to wear a lot more but with age comes acceptance and I can’t imagine spending a ton of time on that sort of thing.

Also, If any bees haeve a natural contour look they want to share I would bega me to give it a try for a night out. Before and after pics would be fab!

I don’t/ don’t know how. I use a bit of blush and or highlighter but, other than that I’m useless. Its a miracle if I can get my liner on straight on the 2758917th time I try.

I do not contour and have no desire to. I already have high cheekbones, and I don’t want to change my face shape and not look like myself. It also looks pretty weird when parts of your face are brown and parts are white and yet other parts are a normal skin color. Why isn’t it blended better? WHY?

I gained some weight this year and so i hopped on the contour band wagon i find it makes my gain wayyy less noticable i love it

I contour to some extent every day (just the hollows of my cheeks and forehead), but I would not consider my makeup style to be like that of all these YouTube and instagram “gurus” we see so much of these days, with x100 thick layers of foundation/concealer/bronzer and while it can be beautiful for occasion makeup or the stage, it’s not ideal for every day. When contouring is done correctly it shouldn’t be noticeable.
Makeup channels on YouTube I like to follow are Lisa Eldridge (which is what I personally consider to be true makeup artistry talent) and Easyneon (who is not a MUA but has that “less is more” approach that I favour). On that note I shall leave you with a funny meme 😬
