I’m less busy than him, so yes, I tend to cook. We go out a lot on the weekends though.

I don’t do big fancy meals, just stuff like tacos or stuffed peppers, or if I’m feeling ambitious baked chicken with veggies on the side and mashed potatoes.

He always does the dishes and will cook occassionally, or bring home take out if he knows I’m stressed.

Yes, I cook for him every night! This is is recent..in the last two months. We get takeout about twice a week, so at least I get a break.

I’m leaving in two weeks for a few days, and Fiance is like ‘oh shoot, what will I eat?!’, and to avoid him eating fast food every night, I am going to do a paper on the fridge with what to have every night, and how to make it.

    Haha I agree, I’ve created a monster!

My husband’s a much better cook than me, so I guess our situation is kinda reversed from yours.  🙂  One thing my husband did, to encourage me to cook more, was to pick out recipes with me.  It makes me feel a lot more confident, and helps us eat a lot healthier, when I have a recipe rather than when I just try to wing it.

Mostly, but if he does its typically under my directive or using something I have already put together, defrosted, partially started etc and relatively simple.

There are times I claim “fend for yourself nights” and he can do leftovers, but normally he ends up with an oven pizza. I dont keep many quick foods on hand so that is really his only option if he doesnt want to put something together, that or nachos or sandwich.

Somehow we’ve fallen into the pattern of me cooking every night… I enjoy cooking so I don’t really mind, but there are some days when I have a ton of stuff to do and it just would be nice if he knew what he was doing in the kitchen and could help out!

We eat leftovers at least 1-2 days a week though, and we usually go out on Fridays and Saturdays, so it only really amounts to me cooking about 3-4 days each week.

He is pretty good with the grill, so he grills something for dinner once or twice a month. I should work on increasing that… haha.

I’m not married yet but have been living with my fiance for almost 2 years. We have a plan, I cook Mon-Thurs on worknights and we chill, then he takes me out to dinner Fri-Sun. I love the routine and the thought of a date after a long work week. He can cook but I’ve improved so much I prefer too cause I’m cleaner in the kitchen and like to learn. Before him I never cooked much, I lived alone and did  a lot of takeout so I’m embracing this.

It started out DH did all the cooking, then I started to – then he balked and did more… and now it seems that I’ve been cooking a little more.  I’d say it’s about 60/40, with him doing more.  I do think it depends on how much he liked whatever I last cooked… meaning, if I bomb, he’s more apt to cook (since he’s better at it!)

I am a stay-at-home mom so I feel that it is definetly my responsibility to do all the cooking but I don’t mind at all. We NEVER eat take out, like maybe once every 6 weeks or so. My Fiance will do the dishes and clean the kitchen tho! When he is on his days off, my Fiance will cook and he’s pretty good at it.

If I don’t cook, we eat out. I’m not sure FH knows how to cook anything but a burger. We eat out maybe twice a week for dinner- usually at least once on the weekends and maybe one weeknight when I’m feeling lazy.

My husband doesn’t cook, and I haven’t been feeling well lately, so we’ve been eating a lot of cereal, pasta, sandwiches, etc. When I do feel good, I cook.
