@Entangled: Oh my gosh I LOVE broccoli that way! And cauliflower! I could live off of those 2 things and be happy!

I don’t cook every single night (maybe 5 of 7 on average) but I’m definitely responsible for dinner (and all our other food). I do all the grocery shopping and if I don’t plan to cook then I ask him to pick something up on the way home from work or we go out.

I was working really late last week and I had to do the same thing as you… email him step by step instructions on how to make TACOS. lol.

Mine cooks the vast majority of the time. I offer to help out, but he’s a better cook with a more varied “portfolio” of recipes, and he actually enjoys it quite a bit. I’m a lucky gal!

We haven’t had too much experience with it ’cause we don’t live together, but when we go on vacation, we usually make dinner together. I’m normally in charge of the main dish, while he chops things up and prepares side dishes. A couple times when I’ve come over to his place, he’s made dinner for me.

    We trade off.

Usually I cook about 4 to 5 of 7 nights a week, but my partner does cook as well, less when he is working long hours though.

that broccoli recipe sounds delish.  this might sound gross, but i dip my steamed broccoli (with fresh squeezed lemon juice on it) in maynoaise!  big globs of it lol i know it’s not very healthy but it’s so good.  i dip my fries in mayo too.

I cook a lot; but my fiance almost always helps. We usually cook together; he’s my “sous chef” LOL.

We don’t cook every night, we usually make enough for leftovers for work lunches and another supper.

If you’re worried about calories, remember: portion control. Adding something like a light salad or steamed veggies to your meal can help fill your stomach without a lot of extra calories. (And remember, people rarely overeat on meat & vegetables; most overeating is on carbs.)

I cook 1-2 times per week.  Usually more like 1.  He also cooks about 1.  We have busy evening schedules so we usually have 2-3 nights where we eat on our own.  And we usually go out on Fridays and Saturdays.

It’s really hard to get a consistent plan going when you don’t know when you’ll be home!

DH loves to cook and is great at it, so he’s the chef in our house. I bake, though!

I choose to cook every night because my DH is a terrible cook.  He’ll pull it out every once in a while for me but for the most part I’m the chef.  And, I’m happy with that arrangement 🙂

In return, he takes me out to dinner at least once or twice a week!

He has a few things he makes and I cook the rest of the time, but nothing fancy. Cooking and learning recipes isn’t my thing. We eat out a few times a week, so no I don’t cook for him every night.
