Guess I should add, I’m the cook but he’s the wannabe chef. I do the everyday, he tries to be the foodnetwork master on rare occasions. Like soufflé or homemade ravioli in 3 colors and his italian grandmothers sauce from the old country that takes 6 hours. Or he mans the grill all summer, much less pretentious.

I cook every night unless I am sick! His favourite is honey chicken with rice, steak with creamy pepper sauce or lasagne.

He used to cook 99% of my meals(including breakfast) because he found it calming but now that I’m a Stay-At-Home Wife, I obviously do the cooking.

I think his favourite dish that I make is BBQ chicken thighs. He ALWAYS wants me to make them sooo….

I also do the dishes, mainly because I don’t work but also because I love doing the dishes!

We split cooking equally.  We each plan to make 4 meals every two weeks.  It is our responsibility to pick the 4 meals, find recipes if needed, and write the needed ingredients down.  That is our shopping list.  We cook the four (8 combined) at some point during the two weeks.  It’s not always exactly alternating.  Sometimes I’ll cook 2 or 3 days in a row, sometimes he will.  The other 6 days that we don’t cook, we eat leftovers or snacks we have around the house.  We go out to eat about once a week.

Both of our favorite that I make is this “beef” stir fry.  I make it with Gardein brand mock beef and I add extra vegetables than what the recipe calls for.  Usually I don’t like fake meats that much, but this sauce/marinade stuff just makes the beef and the vegetables taste SO good.  I’m sure you could substitute with real meat if you really wanted to. http://www.peta.org/recipes/beef-broccoli-stir-fry/

I am vegan and my fiance is not, but I’m thankful that he’s okay with both of us only ever cooking and eating vegan in the house.  It makes me cringe the thought of meat on my cutting boards, plates, silverware, etc.  Thankfully he is willing to try anything and likes pretty much what I like too.

socalgirl1689:  I usually do most of the cooking. We’re Italian and we love eating well! My husband adores my risotto – my specialty is with smoked Parma ham and gorgonzola, which is a sort of blue cheese. He also enjoys my vegetable soups and my tomato basil pasta. I use a food processor which is very useful because it helps me cook with fresh ingredients and saves a lot of time. All the food we eat is home-made.

socalgirl1689:  He mainly cooks. He likes to, and it works out better with our evening schedule. Most nights, I go to the gym later… so by the time I’m home and showered, he’ll usually have supper ready. There will be days that I work out (or don’t work out) and will be home to eat, but he still usually cooks.

I’d like to cook more, but this works for us for now.

I usually cook unless he can grill it. Then he cooks.

I meal plan and make the grocery list, but if I’m not feeling up to it or he has the day off, he’ll take over cooking. I probably cook 70% of the time; the other 30% either he cooks or we cook together. I’m usually home earlier, so it works better for us.

Darling Husband eats everything, so it’s hard for me to tell what his favorite is. I only keep recipes that get a good response from both of us, so he likes all my “repeats.” I would guess that my turkey meatloaf, cheeseburger pie, or butternut squash & black bean tortilla skillet rank up pretty high for him.

socalgirl1689:  I wish I cooked more than I do. He doesnt cook for me as I would like him too. Once in awhile I can pressure him enough to make me something.

My Fiance is the pickiest eater! It drives me crazy, I have all these recipe on Pinterest but can never use them since he doesnt like to try new things.

His favorite food is pasta with beef- but it has to be done a specific way, ground beef seasoned with Puerto Rican seasonings, some tomato sauce and cheese mixed with the pasta. The first time I made pasta for him, I just did the basic ground beef with a jar of spaghetti sauce over top some noodles and he looked at me and said “what is this? This is not how my mom makes it? Why so much sauce”… I nearly kicked him out. Told him about himself. Lol. But I figured out how to make it the way he likes it- It is BETTER than his mom’s pasta and I still kept him around and he learned that day never to say anything about my cooking 😉

Most of the time we go out to eat or pick up some fast food, but when we do cook, we usually do it together. Lately, he’s been in charge of cooking the meat and I’ll do the side dishes. His favorite is definitely pork chops and he really like the corn I made last night

BoriNena89:  My Darling Husband is really picky, too! He likes simple food, so most of the recipes I’ve pinned on Pinterest will not work for him. And he doesn’t like to try new things, so we stick to pan fried meat and veggie side dishes most of the time. Or grilled cheese. It’s usually just easier to go out and eat, but at least he tells me when he doesn’t like something! He doesn’t tell his mom when she makes or gives him something he doesn’t like, so she keeps making or giving stuff to him that either I end up eating or we give to the birds.

I love cooking! FI’s favorite thing for me to cook is my sausage and peppers dish. It has potatoes, sausage, onions and peppers (yellow, red and orange). I mix some seasoning in and put it in the oven. He loves it! I usually get 2 meals out of it with him. He likes to reheat it for lunch the next day.

I do most of the cooking because I enjoy it, but Darling Husband knows how to cook as well and he’ll make some sort of meat dish (steak, pork chops) every month.  I call him the “Meat Whisperer” because he as the uncanny ability to know the perfect doneness just by looking at it.

Darling Husband loves everything I make, which is mostly Vietnamese or other Asian type of foods.  My go-to dish is pork stuffed tofu, a broth soup with misc greens, and a bowl of rice on the side.

I do most of the cooking because I really love it.. Although, he went to school to be a chef and has a few tricks up his sleeve. My favorite things of his are risotto, burgers, or a cote du boeuf.. He also shucks oysters like a pro and makes mean cocktails.

I make just about anything and love experimenting with new cuisines but, some of my most requested creations are braised shortribs with celery root puree and crispy leeks, cobb salad, singapore noodles, or this delicious greens and noodle bowl that we made up.

socalgirl1689:  Yes! I do all of the cooking and pack his lunches for him so I’m basically in the kitchen all the time 🙂 I love cooking. I don’t know if he has one favorite, but a few of his are:

1. Tex Mex Casserole

2. BBQ Chicken (I make my own BBQ Sauce and he’ll basically eat it on anything)

3. Clam Chowder

4. Spicy Peanut Noodles and Stirfry

5. Roasted Chicken and Mashed Potatoes, Cornbread, Etc.

He also loves salads, which I pack him for lunch. Honestly he likes everything I make except chili. He weirdly doesn’t like chili.
