Just curious. If most ppl wrap it all into one number? I hadn’t…
I just new what our wedding/ceremonyreception would entail and counted that number. And kept my dress and our rings as other random paid off numbers.

I suppose we have it all counted as one…but really we’ve had a line item budget for everything for the past year. So, that includes the rings down to groceries and utilities…everything goes into the spreadsheet π
It’s all meticulously documented so when all is said and done we can actually tally up what the whole wedding ended up costing.

Our budget for ceremony, reception decor everything that day is 25k. My dress was 2k and our rings are roughly 11k – I wouldn’t want to say “my wedding budget was 38k” because I feel like that mis represents the day of the wedding.

We counted everything except our rings and honeymoon. Rings we will wear forever, and our honeymoon was a vacation that we took six months later. Every other expense was fair game.

@FutureMrsMcLaughin: Ha funny, we’re actually from the East Bay!! Danville, Walnut Creek area. And we’re getting married in Livermore π
Sometimes I wonder how brides do it out here with the rain and such…it rained just a bit during our engagement party last summer…sheesh July and rain ohh…Seattle!
Fiance proposed to me in the Berkeley hills overlooking the Golden Gate bridge <3

@SunnySquirrel: Ah I see. I can dig it. We’ll take a mini moon lol and a bigger honey moon later. Which we also didn’t include in the budget.

we counted attire and rings separate from our main budget. our finances are mostly separate and this way we could spend as much or as little on our own attire and rings as we want. funny thing is that my dress was very inexpensive (for a wedding dress) and the ring he chose was surprisingly expensive, so we’re spending about the same amount each.

We didn’t include my ring into the budget since that expense came prior to a wedding. π But, my dress and his ring is included into our budget.

@FutureMrsMcLaughin: I did not include my engagement ring. H bought my ring before we had our finances pooled.
I do count my dress and H’s wedding band. I did not opt for a second band. My engagement ring is already very wide, two rings would have been silly. So the engagement ring was now a wedding ring in the ceremony.
