I feel like 3+ times a month is SUPER excessive. I cry at emotional movies (The Fault in Our Stars, The Notebook, Up!, etc.) but never at songs and never multiple times a month unless something else is making me emotional. I feel like at that point you need to figure out how to reign in your emotions.

Music never makes me cry and tv only really rarely, but I cry during movies allll the time. Inside Out was the most recent one that really got me, but I also cried when I watched Lilo and Stitch last night. It’s not even always sad things. Remember in the last Harry Potter when McGonagall brings all the statues to life to fight for their castle? Yeah, I cried at that part.

In regular life I’m nowhere near that emotional.

gijanedoe:  hell yes. Its rare that i cry over a song. But movies? Shows? I can make a huge list of shows and movies that have made me cry.

Lion King- this was the first movie that ever made me cry bc the father died and it hit really close to home bc my father had cancer at the time and I kept thinking what if this happens to me? And it eventually did but years later. I still cry when i see that movie

Land before time, Steel Magnolias, Backdraft, Ladder 49, I am Legend bc of the dog, The Green Mile, Forest Gump, Marley & Me (i cried like a baby, any movie where the dog dies I will sob), PS I Love you,

Shows: Greys Anatomy (several times but the most I cried was when Lexi, McDreamy and McSteamy, and Denny died), Sons of Anarchy (if anyone watched that show you will know what I am talking about when I saybthe scene with Tig and his daughter)

There are a ton of time i cried but these are the things that come to mind

gijanedoe:  I cry all of the time during movies. My fiance actually gave me a list of “60 reasons why I love you” when he proposed and one of them was “I love that you cried during The Blind Side.”

gijanedoe:  Dude, I cried all through Inside Out and sobbed during the little Lava short before it. I know I’m very sensitive and emotional though! I BAWLED at a big spoiler towards the end of the Mockingjay book. I cry pretty easily. I like to think that wearing your heart on your sleeve is endearing because people always know where they stand with you haha. Feeling things deeply can be a blessing and a curse for sure though.

I have cried over ‘UP’. I love that movie and it’s so true I feel like. I also cried over ‘San Andreas’, like I literally bawled in the moving theatre. I also cried over the Furious 7.

I’m a crier, I will admit it! 🙂

I cry over songs too.

I’m not much for crying at movies in general.  I remember feeling super awkward during Titanic when my friends were bawling.  I patheticly offered them my candy and just tried to keep looking towards the screen, lol.

I did end up crying like crazy while watching Dumbo a couple years ago.  Like massive, uncontrollable sobbing of things like  “he’s different and his mother is in jail, WHY won’t the other elephants be NICE”.  I think my then boyfriend, now husband, was rightfully concerned. =/

Yay I’m not alone!! I cry over everything, but when I’m not alone, it’s like silent rivers rolling out of my eyes type deal. Alone, I’m a gasping, heaving mess.

I am not a crier in general. Maybe 2-3 times a year. But our whole family went to see Marley & Me and there we were- my mom, dad, me, my husband, my daughter and my best girlfriend- all sobbing at the end.

i often get emotional watching movies, especially ones where animals die or suffer..and cartoons of course – Earth before time, Lion King, UP – i watched these with my niece and felt awkward but couldnt stop myself from shedding a tear.. the last movie i sobbed to was Mr Nobody, prolly because i watched it alone at home while my beloved man was hospitalized, so i was double sad. i even cried to a book once – Everything Is Illuminated, made me both laugh (in the beginning) and cry (in the end). cant remember any song that made me sappy, although there were songs that stopped me from crying. music inspires me :p

Both movies and songs (and books!) can get me emotional, and somtimes it’s the least expected thing. For example, I was so upset at the plot twist that I cried about the series finale of How I Met Your Mother. …Like far more than I’d like to admit. I know a bunch of different songs get to me, but the one coming to mind right now is Tim McGraw’s “Don’t Take The Girl.”

gijanedoe:  Yes lol! Not so much with music because I don’t listen to it that much, or books because reading just doesn’t affect me that way, but I cry all the time with movies. I recently watched The Help again and it makes me cry so much at the end when Abilene has to leave Mae Mobley. Pretty much any Disney movie, but the worst for me is Dumbo! I hate when his mom is taken away and labeled “mad” just for protecting her baby. The other I can think of off the top of my head was a Japanese animated movie called Grave of the Fireflies. These two kids lose everything during WWII and the little girl dies of starvation/malnutrition and her brother not long after her 🙁 Mostly any sad thing with animals or kids makes me cry lol.
