MrsGirlyGirl :  I don’t because I don’t have time but I love visiting my friend who is all about it. Her house is always so cute!

I never really thought of this but now I want to!

I already decorate for fall  because I love love LOVE Halloween and fall is my favourite season, so as soon as the leaves start turning colour I’m bringing some inside, gourds, mini pumpkins, fall coloured throws and scented candles and as soon as it’s semi-socially normal (I’m still earlier than most) I’m decorating inside and out for Halloween.

And then late November/ early December I decorate for Christmas- but then everything looks so plain afterward! I really like the idea of embracing winter/ spring/ summer decor. On a budget, like accents and stuff not on a huge scale, but I do really like the concept.

I don’t, it seems kind of pointless to me and just a way to accumulate excess stuff.

I decorate for Christmas and I love that but come January I’m glad to take everything down and have my house back.

MrsGirlyGirl :  My mom has always decorated for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and Independence day. Fiancés mom goes crazy with decoations each holiday. Fiancé and I are moving in together this Oct., and I will probably add a few pieces for each season, too. I was recently at Hobby Lobby looking at the cute Fall decoations, and thought how fun it would be to get a few things for our new place.

We don’t decorate for any season, Christmas included. My parents do Xmas decorations, but we rarely bother. It just feels like a hassle to change decorations throughout the year, and having to find somewhere to store everything in between. Neither of us really celebrate Christmas either, other than buying gifts for family, so the decorating is just not something we really have much interest in.

My front porch is the only place I put out seasonal decor, with the exception of Christmas/winter.

Oh, gosh, yes. I am that person.

I have tons of decor for each season and holiday (in cutely labeled clear bins). That is what my storage room in the basement is for, lol. My mom always did the same thing. It’s somewhat therapeutic to decorate for the new seasons and holidays (PLUS, I get to do my deep cleaning of the house at the same time. I love cleaning, it’s weird.)

ETA: I just noticed you said your mom did this too. I’m from the Midwest (Wisconsin, actually). Is this a regional thing? Most people I know at least decorate differently for the holidays. My mom always did seasons and holidays though, and I loved redecorating with her.

I just took down my Fourth of July decor and it’s now just standard “summer” decor until I switch to autumn decor and then add in Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then New Years, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day (we’re not even Irish, lol), Easter, and then Fourth of July again. I think that’s it, but not sure, haha. Sometimes I forget to put the Valentine’s Day stuff up because I love my Christmas decor so much and I try to leave it up longer.

Nope.  I don’t have anywhere to store decorations for each season.  We don’t even decorate the condo in the city for Christmas, just our weekend Cabin.

Not each individual season, but I usually do something for Spring/Summer, and then Fall/Winter.  And I decorate for Christmas.

MrsGirlyGirl :  Yes! I dont do much in summer but fall through spring I have a lot of decor I switch out. It does make it feel more festive and homey. I only got my s*** together to do this routinely in the last 3-4 years (and Im 34! lol)… but I enjoy it a lot now!

Target usually has a lot of cute seasonal stuff in their entry area. Hobby lobby is good for stuff too, especially if you buy at the end of season on discount 🙂

So we’ve been in our house for almost exactly a year and in the front room there’s this cute little mirrored shelving unit that faces the front door. It’s perfect for displaying little seasonal stuff. But it doesn’t hold too much so I can’t get carried away (which if you know me and how much I loooove certain holidays can definitely be a problem). But I try to do a little bit for each “big” holiday: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, V-Day, Easter… I slacked a lot this summer because we’ve been so busy. So I had Easter/Spring stuff up until mid-July. Whoops! And I don’t have any summer decor so right now it’s just picture frames and random knick knacks. It’ll probably stay that way until I swap in our Halloween decor. But my goal, once I get my life back on track and more organized, is to have my rotation down and have the shelves always decorated appropriately. Ha! A girl can dream!

ETA: I usually find most of my cute decor stuff at places like TJ Maxx, Hobby Lobby, and Target.

I do, except for Summer and post-Christmas winter. I have Spring, Fall, Christmas, Halloween, 4th of July, Valentine’s Day, and now, Wedding Season decor (lots of whites and hydrangeas). 🙂

I decorate for Christmas but that is about it. I do have a table runner and centerpiece that I change out for the seasons. Outside, I have a huge flower pot that I’ll plant seasonal flowers in. Every once in a while I’ll get really fancy for fall and do a strawbale/mum/pumpkin thing at the bottom of our driveway.
