  • poll: How long do you stick you legs in the air or pedal for after BD?

    10 mins

    15 mins

    20 mins

    More than 20 mins

    Just stick legs in air

Pedal as well as sticking legs in air

Bah! Sounds like witch-doctory stuff :)

I propped my legs up for 20 minutes with both my pregnancies. The first time it took 2 cycles and the second, 4 cycles. I have no idea if it helped, but since it couldn’t hurt, I was game!

When I first heard about this, I laughed! But I do it now too, every once in a while. I’m too lazy to stay in bed for more than 5 minutes though.

But I read this on the First Response Answers page:

Q: I tend to have intercourse in the morning, then jump up and get ready for the day. A friend told me that I need to stay put if I want to conceive.

A: Lying down in bed for 20 to 30 minutes with a pillow under your pelvis helps keep the sperm inside and moving toward your egg. You may want to choose a time when you’re able to stay in bed a little longer.

@TheHaesterReturns:  I’m not sure if it did, she was a special situation. She only has 1 working ovary, but after a year of trying she did get PG.

I’m 6w2d and that cycle I had DH prop my legs up for 5-10 minutes on his shoulders.

I do cuz it makes me feel better but my Doctor told me none of that stuff matters. But just seems like working with gravity to  me.

I kept my bum propped up on a pillow for 20 minutes after, but definitely no legs in the air or pedal work outs hahaha.

It worked for me, we got pregnant on that first cycle but who knows if that had anything to do with it.

Well… i’m trying not to get my hopes up but this is our first cycle doing the “legs in the air” thing and i’m about a day away from AF and iv had really sore breasts for about a week or so and 2 days of sore (lower) gums. Hopefully it works! lol

I didn’t stick my legs in the air, but I propped my butt up on pillows. Got pregnant my first cycle trying so I can’t really  say what it was that worked, but I guess it didn’t hurt! I would stay propped up about 30 minutes and just read my kindle or play games on my phone, haha.

I’ve been told that the most important thing is to lay there and not get up right after you have sex. If you get up rught away the swimmers tend to come out. My friend did this and swore that’s how she got her son. Who knows???

Haha, this is funny.  I tried propping my legs up with a pillow or holding them in the air for 4 cycles, but it didn’t work.  My 5th cycle trying, my DH suggested I should go closer to vertical, like a headstand but not stand on my head.  I slid off the bed (carefully so I didn’t disturb any sperm who were hopefully swimming) and laid on my back/shoulders with my legs propped up against the side of the bed.  We got pregnant that cycle.  Unfortunately we miscarried, but when we tried again this month DH was insistant that I do that position again.  What do you know, it worked 🙂  So for us, it has 100% success rate.  Guess I won’t be able to tell him it’s a myth afterall.  😛  It certainly doesn’t hurt I suppose.  I found out with my last pregnancy I have a tilted uterus.  I believe some sites recommend laying on your stomach in this case instead of putting legs in the air?  I don’t know for sure but perhaps they should recommend the headstand position instead!
