calliekalico2 :  Yep!  I drive his occassionally and vice versa.  When I’m pregnant and we’re going somewhere, he’ll drive mine

We each like to drive our own cars, but we’ll switch sometimes depending on the situation. If we’re travelling in the same car, the one who owned that car first is most likely to be driving it.

I very rarely drive his unless there’s some sort of circumstance where I don’t have access to my car or something. He has a big truck, and I prefer not to drive it unless I really have to. He will frequently jump in my car if he needs to run an errand but he gives me a heads up first. He would never just take it and go to work or something just because. We drive our own vehicles to work 99% of the time. My car gets much better gas mileage so it’s usually our go to vehicle when we go somewhere. For us it isnt a boundary issue though.

We’ve both come into our relationship with our own cars, and refer to them as such. I’ll ask before I borrow his and vice versa, but honestly I wouldn’t care if he took mine without letting me know.

Most of the time we drive our own, but we share driving if its a long trip, or I might drive his if he has a few drinks. Sometimes when we’re doing errands and I don’t feel like driving around town, I ask him to drive my car. Like a PP, my SO has a big truck so I don’t drive his as often as he drives mine. It’s definitely not a boundary, but we would always ask first.

He needs his ute for work (to carry tools in), so he doesn’t regularly drive mine for that purpose since mine is a sedan. We do swap and drive eachothers for reasons other than work pretty often though.

We had to switch cars for about 6 months when I sprained my knee (I drive a stick and he drives an automatic. Otherwise we mostly drive our own cars.

We only have one car between the two of us (we live in a large city), so — yes 🙂

We each have our own cars. I don’t like to drive his because it’s a large luxury vehicle. I’m horrified by the thought of possibly damaging it. He likes to try to get me to drive it but I prefer to simply enjoy riding in it. We tend to drive my car more often, anyway – it’s smaller, easier to park, and gets much better gas mileage.

When we had two cars we did share, although we each preferred to drive our own because we have a large difference in height so there’s a lot of seat and mirror manoeuvring when we switch drivers.

Now we only have one car. I have a company vehicle with my work that can only be used for work purposes so obviously he can’t drive that but we both share our car.

I drive a large SUV to haul around our 3 kids while he drives a tiny Prius. I’ve driven his car once or twice, but just have no reason to do it. He will usually only take my car if he’s taking 2 or more of our kids somewhere. FWIW I don’t like his car- too modern and too many bells and whistles. The damn thing will park it self it you let it- no thanks.

Same situation as many pp. we each have our own cars but depending on the circumstances, we will switch. For instance, he has a 4×4 and I have a car. I commute much farther than he does so in the winter when the roads are not nice, he wants me to drive his jeep.

We each have our own cars, but we live in an area where one car garages and driveways are common. Since I drive quite frequently for work, and DH takes the bus to work a few days a week and works from home the rest, my car is usually the one in the driveway. My car is driven a lot more than his by both of us.
