@oracle: lol! I second that

@Kemi82Justice of the Peace: Thank you for saying that. 🙂 I do believe it will work out in the end…and after all, I’m marrying my favorite person on the planet. Hard to not like that!

NO!!!!!!!!! I kept falling into a lull where I wouldn’t do ANYTHING wedding related for WEEKS and we only had a 6 month engagement (engaged 4/2/10, wedding 10/2/10)!
It totally isn’t for me. The diy projects – crafting – I enjoyed every minute. The planning and calling and follow up and do a, b, c and x, y, z. Ugh. I should’ve totally went to Vegas.
But I have 10 more days so I’m happy!

I’m sure I would like it more if I had an unlimited budget or someone else was footing the bills!

- Wedding: March 2011 - Samuel Lynne Galleries and Marc Events
Oh, I love, love, love it! I plan events in my “real” life, but they don’t allow for nearly as much creativity as a wedding. I just love it! I’m now thinking that I want to just plan weddings for my “real” life. I love it!!!!
Let me know if anyone wants me to plan theirs!

The nitty gritty of planning really isn’t that fun. I like looking at wedding mags, and I like picking out pretty things (talking to the florist about what color the flowers should be, seeing the baker to figure out what the cake should look like, etc). I think I could have enjoyed it just as much if I had a wedding planner doing the legwork for me and I just got to be “creative director.”
It’s been fun to have a “project” but I’m 101% ready for it to be over… have been for a little while.

I personally love and have been enjoying it. But of course, I have my days in which I want it to all go away, too. 🙂

I like the DIY, but that’s about it. Finding the venue, dealing with expectations, stressing about registries, showers, family….it’s a lot. I really thought that I would enjoy this more, but now, I just want to get ‘er done. lol
I second the whole “you find out who your friends are” piece. It’s been…amazing and also shocking. People have been wonderful, but I have had a couple of friends say/do some completely moronic things that have, sadly, changed my opinion of them.

I’ve gone back and forth, but most of the time I love it! I love the happiness of weddings, and creating things that I’ve envisioned! It’s a little stressful trying to decide things with the fiance (who is stubborn), but in the end, it will be one of the happiest days of our life and we won’t even (hopefully) notice the small things that aren’t perfect 🙂

I think I’m opposite of some of you in that I HATED the first 6 months of it. The whole trying to figure out a budget/trying to find money/trying to decide on a city/trying to find a venue just stressed me out and had me in tears more often than I’d like to admit. And I also did not really enjoy shopping for a dress.
But, once I got through all of that stuff… it got a lot more fun. I am enjoying myself now working on DIY projects and doing the detail stuff.

There are definitely aspects of planning that I very much enjoy and others that I just don’t care for at all. Now that it’s winding down, I’m finding it’s the little detail oriented items that are becoming a pain in my butt. On the other hand, (assuming this will never happen again), I am trying to savor the entire experience.

@ArwenBride I really didn’t realize that weddings bring out the crazy/weird/ugly in people

I’ve been enjoying it, but I think it helps that my best friend is getting married about a month after me, so we’re having a blast planning things together :).

I enjoyed it a lot, my biggest problem was that I love everything & had a hard time making decisions on what I wanted my one and only wedding to be like. Looking back there are things I would have changed, but it was beautiful.
