I don’t have my ring yet (although it’s ready:D) but we looked online, at brick and mortars and eventually decided on having it custom made by a local jewellery designer. During our looking process, I noticed a couple of girls at various places around town (mattress store and optometrist’s, lol) who had nice e-rings and both mentioned they were from Blue Nile. I didn’t have a bad reaction at all! In fact I thought it was great! I don’t know why anyone would have a negative reaction. It’s not like you bought it out of the back of some van, lol.

my ring is from James Allen- and yes I have had mixed reactions. People are sceptical and surprised. I don’t let it bother me at all, knowing that my diamond is gia certified and valued at way more than my fiancé paid. Online all the way!

Mine is from Gemvara… no one has said anything or made any faces or anything to suggest being judgey… but then not many people know, just because “where did he get it” doesn’t come up much, and Gemvara isn’t that well known, I suspect. Nobody even seems to recognize it.
Haha I got almost everything for my wedding online and I’m super psyched to be like I GOT EVERYTHING ON ETSY HOW AWESOME IS THAT. I didn’t even think about the stigma.

His parents know we’re going through Blue Nille and they were concerned because they don’t really trust online purchases unless they’re through amazon or a brick-and-mortar retailer’s online store.

No one is ever asked me this. I don’t really think its any of their business, although I have told friends about MoissyCO when they specifically asked where they could buy a moissanite after hearing about and drooling over mine.
If someone asked me that and they weren’t literally a good friend of mine, I’d be really put off. It’s none of their business. I feel like that’s like asking when I’m going to TTC.
