That would be a rather silly thing to lie about, imo.

Now if I saw someone claiming to have a size 3 finger and a 2ct ring that didnt completely take over their finger, then I’d suspect they were lying about the size of the ring, but I wouldnt think they were lying about the size of their finger.

I don’t see why anyone would lie… very weird thing to lie about! Maybe they just guess wrong?

I think it’s really difficult to tell someone’s ring size from a photo because someone could have long thin looking fingers but if they have huge hands it’s all relative and they could still have a large finger size. Vice versa with smaller ring size ladies who have short fingers – visual effects and all that. I think it’s easier to tell when they give the carat size so you have something to compare it to.

I don’t think so… that would be such a strange thing to lie about. I think a lot of it depends on the photo.

For instance, I wear a 4.5, but I’m pretty sure my finger looks WAY ‘chubbier’ in the first photo than in the second one.

@JessMorgan777:  +1 imagine what it’s like for me being size 2.5!!!

I find the whole finger size thing really interesting. I used to work in jewellery and never encountered so many tiny hands as there are on the bee. Most people were about a 6-9, most men around 11. I’m not saying that anyone is lying, just my real life experience doesn’t correlate and I find that interesting.

That would be super strange to lie about. Sure, I hate that my chunky fingers are a size 8. But would I lie about that? NO! That’s like lying about your shoe size. Whyyy?

@Future_Mrs_Dr_I:  Lol. I thought that was a quarter at first. Your fingers are tiny, but you can get cheap winter gloves!?!? Sorry, trying to think of a positive.

I like to think the best of people (until they prove me wrong)

I think a lot of times on Weddingbee we have a hard time in the Ring Posts perceiving what is size… and that is because of the way that a photograph (especially a close up one) distorts Jewellery to begin with.

Diamonds never look the same in a photo as they do in real life.

And fingers no matter how small look enormous…

Which is part of the reason I hate those… “Can you guess my Diamond size” posts

Finger coverage is going to be totally dependent upon what size girth your finger is (ring size)

So ya, IMO it is hard to determine anything worthwhile beyond GORGEOUS RING / SETTING here on WBee vs Real Life.

Hope this helps,

@arathella:  I try to ignore it. Friends say my hands are creepy ๐Ÿ™ but on WB I’ve been told I have model-like hands. Just shows that my friends have no idea!!

My fingers have stayed pretty much the same through teen years until now when I am 33. They went up a bit with weight, but not too horribly. At 123 pounds, I wore a size 6 ring. At my heaviest weight (233 pounds – a full 100 pounds heavier), I wore a 7. Now I am at a 6.5. I guess I will be a 6 again when I am done with my weight loss. ๐Ÿ™‚ I think it’s kind of silly to lie about ring size. Saying a smaller number won’t make your fingers appear any skinnier, right?

I don’t see why people would like about it either.  Though people lie about everything so I’m sure a few people might, but I doubt very many.

It’s very hard to tell what size fingers people have in photos…

I have long slender fingers and I wear 6.5.  It doesn’t sound small but I don’t have small hands, I’m 6’0″ tall.  They’re just long and slender in proportion to the rest of my body.

I’ve always been told I have really slim fingers…but I wear a size 6 which makes me feel like a giant on here! ๐Ÿ™‚
