Everytime I check something off of my WeddingWire checklist, I feel like there are at least 10 more decisions we have to make that come up in its place.
I have about six months left and even though people tell me we’re so ahead, I feel like I’m falling further and further behind!
Does this feeling get better the closer it gets to the wedding?

Yah I’ve noticed that. I started planning 2 years in advance but there is lots of little stuff that comes up now that we are closer. At least you’re checking stuff off!

I downloaded the WeddingHappy app on my iPhone because it gives you percentages that you’ve completed and suggested dates for other things. It’s a great app. I’ve got 293 days left to go and I’ve completed 31% of my list according the the app, but I still feel like I haven’t done anything at all. I sometimes feel like I will never get everything done.

Wow! I wish I had two years to plan!
The thing that gets me the most are the little details that come up. I spent two days thinking about pew bows – my venue includes them, but they’re not “the best”/”what defines me and FI as people”/etc. I mentioned it to my florist at our initial consultation and she whipped up a great idea to have small arrangements at a few of the pews, which can then be pulled off after the ceremony and moved to the reception (on the guest book table or cake table, for example).
The latest drama was what color uplighting to use. Luckily I showed FI what colors I was thinking about and he said, “That one.”
Even so, I feel like every decision I make or contract that gets signed necessitates 20 more little decisions that all seem equally important. I know from a big picture perspective that none of it will really matter in 20 years, but it seems SO important today.
