Do you wear your ring all the time, or do you take it off for certain things?
I personally wear it all the time, but my fiance thinks it’s crazy that I sleep in it and take showers in it?! I never even considered doing anything else! He seems to think I’m more likely to lose it (fall off in my sleep or go down the drain I suppose), but to me I’m WAY more likely to lose it if I’m taking it off.
I work at a hospital and occassionally don’t wear it to work, but really that’s pretty rare because I hate not wearing it! I just am sure to wear gloves and clean it after. And I think once we’re married I’ll leave the e-ring at home and just wear band, but for now I can’t not wear it!! lol
I have a friend who hardly EVER wears her ring because and I just don’t get it. She says it’s so expensive and doesn’t want to lose it but that’s what insurance is for if you ask me. Not that I plan on losing it, but it’s my ring I want to WEAR it!
Any time I SHOULD be taking it off? Swimming is about all I can think of.

I think I’m the same as most ladies here. I take it off to shower, sleep, wash dishes, clean with chemicals, put on lotion, cooking, etc. I try to remember to take it off before doing anything that’ll get it dirty or damage it.

I take it off for sleeping, showering and doing the dishes, and sometimes exercising because my hands get sweaty and swollen.

My ring is a plain wedding band so I mostly where it 24/7. I have took it off a few times for cleaning but that is it.

I take it off all the time. Every time I wash my hands, shower, cook, sleep. Pretty much anything! It’s a pearl so I guess it’s more fragile but it’s what I wanted 🙂

I only take it off when i’m making biscuits… Butermilk biscuits can get VERY messy…

I take it off either when I get home or go to bed and put it back on when I’m getting ready for the day. I wouldn’t want to stab anyone or myself with it in the middle of the night! I also take it off when I am cleaning.

I am in and out of 50 pairs of gloves a day (I work in a lab) so I usually pin my ring to the inside of my scrub pocket. I also take it off to shower/cook/clean at home, but leave it on to shower at the gym. I don’t swim with it either, the chemicals are really bad for white gold.

I was thinking about this the other day when I was cooking with my dad. I took my rings off to make lasagna because I had to stick my hands in filling to stir. I made sure I announced to everyone where I was putting them, and my mom gave me a look that said, “you’re dumb for taking them off!” That was the first time I took them off since the wedding for any extended period of time.

I used to sleep with mine on, but my jeweler recommends taking it off at the very least to sleep, shower, do dishes (anything messy with hands really) to protect the ring. Sleeping is more about not damaging the prongs in your sleep, since you might hit it against something or snag it on something. I’ve only forgot to put it on ONCE since we got engaged, and that was after a really long trip with very little sleep and I was exhausted/running late for work! I felt naked all day! 🙂

I take it off constantly. It’s a pearl, so I’m terrified of damaging it with soaps, chemicals, etc. and I also hate the feeling of getting water under it and not being able to be completely dry on my hands. I’ve almost left it in bathrooms a dozen times 😡 And it’s also super loose right now, so I am finding that I take it off at home random places and then forget to put it back on. Right now it’s on our Christmas tree b/c I was taking pics of it with my favourite ornament and then forgot to put it back on hahaha.

I never take mine off unless I have to…I even leave it on to clean it, I just flip it around to the palm of my hand and scrubble it with a tooth brush, ultra shine spray, and/or my diamond dazzle stick…I’m notorious for losing things and if I take my ring off, you just never know!!!

I’m just going to post this awesome article on this subject as food for thought for some of you who insist on wearing your rings 24/7…not saying anything else:

Typically take it off to shower, have to remove it if I’m washing my hair or it will get snagged. Often take it off while cleaning with chemicals, or baking.
When I’m sleeping I have to turn the stone to face my palm, or else I end up scratching myself with it.
