Maybe things where you don’t have to purchase stuff to attend?  Some of those are fun but I really get bogged down by having to buy things.

PS – Good to see you around here!

What about an oldfashioned tea party? Lots of little cakes, sandwiches, different kinds of tea, vintage tea cups and floral patterns!

If your gals like a drink you could do a cocktail party, the host organizes some receipes and each guests brings a bottle or other vital ingredient, and then you’ll have a cocktail tasting session where you take turns making cocktails and tasting them. You can even score them. Could be a good way to figure out signature cocktails for your reception! (If you’re not already married)

Or you could have a crafting evening, before the holidays you could all get together and make your own holiday cards for example.

I really love having get togethers—only if i had more girl friends!  anything involving cocktails and food, i’m there!

While I really don’t like going to parties where I have to buy something, I have to admit to co-hosting a “toy” party– Toy as in adult toys.  That was SOOO much fun!

i’ve been to a tv show viewing party before – that was fun.  A coworker of mine is planning an Twilight movie night. You can do something like that.

Or you can do a game night.  I LOVE board games!

I’m hoping to try holding brunch at my house!  I just did a holiday cocktail party which was nice.  i also like movie marathon nights or a games night is good too.

I’ve also had a Passion Party (adult toys), and I loved it. I’m all about having parties and getting together w/ the ladies. Sadly, I don’t have many girlfriends so I don’t get to do it all that often.

Ive been to a couple of jewlery parties (I can’t remember the name of the line), and although they are fun I hate the pressure to buy something.

I prefer more casual get togethers. Wine nights-all the girls bring a different bottle of wine so you get to try a whole bunch. You could do just whites, or just local wines, etc.

My friends do pot lucks. We’ve done brunch and dinner and both are fun and a good way for people that don’t have much time to hang out  to just pop in and out. Plus I like it because I don’t have to do all that cooking!

We also do game nights a lot which when you are playing with cocktails can be great! Catch phrase is my favorite. We also did a sex and the city night when it came on DVD πŸ™‚

Writing this made me sad!! I miss my girl friends πŸ™ Feel like I never see them lately

My friends and I will come up with any excuse to get together.  This time a year we’re doing a gift exchange and crazy christmas party.  Another friend is doing a cookie exchange party.  You bring 10 dozen cookies and exchange so you have loads of different kinds.  We also have girls night parties, dinner parties, whatever anyone can think of to get some quality girl time!

I occasionally throw spaghetti and meatball parties:) It’s a pretty easy, pretty universally liked meal and all the ladies that come over bring wine and then we just hang out and chat and drink. B*tch and wine parties are fun too…pretty much the same premise but without the spaghetti and everyone brings an appetizer and/or wine lol

I’m in a wine club.  Its ladies only, the hostess picks a theme (California Cabernets, Spanish Riojas, or whatever) and everyone brings a bottle $25 or less of wine in that theme.  The hostess makes dinner.  We meet monthly.  Its a lot of fun.

Once in awhile at my old job we’d have a ladies lunch where we’d go to one of our houses for lunch (none of us live very far from work) and make a little lunch and tea.

Game nights always seem to be a hit, cards and games.

Or movie/TV show night that no man wants to watch

My friends and I usually do random stuff….card parties, board game parties, etc. We also do theme nights where we pick a type of food and everyone prepares and brings a dish from that culture: Ethiopian, Indian, Mexican, etc. Sometimes we just get together and order pizza and talk. It’s always a fun and inexpensive time.

Best party I have been to is a Handbag party!!!  my goodness… SO MUCH FUN!!!

I enjoy wine parties, the occasional make up party.. because sometimes im really that bad at choosing makeup and cant be bothered going into the store..

I went to a perfume party once.. that gave me a headache that I can still remember!
