Yes.  I have some things I have to wear them with- white skirts in summer, a white wrap dress…

Yep.  It depends on the dress, of course, but if it’s a knit that is prone to lines or it is really cold but I still want to wear a dress, I will wear a slip (and usually brightly colored tights for the cold).  I also wear nice ones with a couple of dresses that are a little too low-cut, making it look like I’ve got a lace tank on underneath.

I wear them all the time with knit/jersey dresses (or ones that are more prone to stick to me)…. just call me granny! 😉

@oracle: Ooh, yeah, forgot about the cling prevention! Definitely important.

I have one very see-through white linen skirt – that’s the only thing I wear a slip with, but I DEFINITELY need it for that!

I have them, but avoid wearing them at ALL cost!  I really don’t have much that I need to wear them with, though, so it’s all good!

I wear them with thin white dresses and with fabric that may cling. I have never had one be too long though.

I don’t, but I almost never wear dresses.  If I cared more than I do, I definitely would, for all the reasons mentioned by other posters.  I’m just too lazy about getting dressed, I think…

@missy11: No I don’t. I wear a lot of dresses and skirts but they usually come with linings.

I wear skirts about 90% of the time, and I always wear a slip unless I forget or am in a rush. It’s cold up here, so tights are a must, and tights+long skirts-slip=cling. Ehk. So I have some long slips as well as some short slips for my knee length skirts. I think they’re just nice to keep the static away and help camouflage panty lines.

I honestly can’t remember the last time I wore one & when it’s not the depths of an arctic winter, I wear skirts/dresses all the time!  I’d much rather feel the cotton than a cold slip.  I really don’t understand PP’s who say they keep them warm!  To me, silky stuff makes me cold.  Maybe I’m nutters.  Yea, I probably am. 🙂
