one time I was at a bar watching opera singers at this fancy bar looking for a singer another guy chats me up, asking do you like opera, I said yeah I’m looking for a singer for my wedding, he says something then abruptly leaves my side, like whoa..I felt diseased but it was hilarious..I didnt have my ring yet, my friend said that’s false advertising
another time, I was at my friend’s birthday party, sitting at a table, this guy approaches me and makes small talk, I said well I cant really talk to you I’m engaged, the minute I said that he murmurs something and backs off very quickly, like whoa
another time I was getting off the plane, the customs guy kept asking all these questions I dont usually get asked then finally he asked do you have a boyfriend, I said no I’m engaged, he stopped asking questions, like whoa…okay I didnt have my ring yet either
like wow…life has changed, still love my honey but I am no longer a single woman guys takes time getting used to all these changes, the minute you say something guys back off like you are diseased it’s kind of funny, a bit of an ego-booster turning down cute guys but I am soo happy with my honey, I dont care about anyone else

But, you told the second guy you couldn’t talk to him! Was he supposed to stick around anyway? lol
but, yeah, I know what you mean.

lol yes. not to be cocky but I used to get hit on when we went out on the towns with our friends. we’ve been engaged 6 months and we go out about 2 a month and NOTHING! lol one guy actually walked up to me, I lifted my hand to get my drink and he goes “Whoa!” and turned. Fiance says if he knew thats all he had to do I would have gotten the ring a long time ago. Silly boy!

I guess it’s mor predominant here because I live in the city of aggressive males, but wow gotta kiss all that attention goodbye, but I’ll take lifelong romance anyday with my babe 🙂

I think it’s a good sign that they backed off so quickly after hearing you were engaged. A friend of mine used to wear a wedding ring even though she wasn’t in a relationship because she was hit on so much while working at a coffee shop. When one guy made a pick up attempt, she lifted her hand and said, “sorry, I’m married.” His reply? “Oh honey, that doesn’t matter.”

Im happy guys stay away, its nice to get them off my back at bars and such. I love flashing my bling and they all run away lol

Oh its different for me!
Instead of running away, they see it as a challenge. Thats when I turn rude bride and talk about the wedding… something about lace and table settings finally gets them to leave!
